My eBike build (very, very pic heavy)

I lot of folk think they're stronger and more reliable than the SRAM Dualdrive which is very similar but more flashy. I think a lot folk won't go near the SA brand.. They're just brand snobs. I've got one in my spares which I got to replace a broken SRAM hub. However, soon after buying on eBay I...

    rims and Marathon Plus

Certain tyre and rim combinations can be notoriously hard to fit, but I've never heard of it being easy with Marathon Plus's. This or popping off without any strain is usually a sign of a poor quality or damaged (less likely) tyre.

I was seriously considering a Nuvinci hub, but it seems it can have issues, as confirmed by Pedelec forum members.

Thoughts on converting Giant Road e+1 to 1x drivetrain

Not sure what chainset your bike uses, but most have allen key bolts on each chainset arm to hold the two chain rings in place. You need to take the chain off the chain ring and loosen all the bolts. If you lucky none of them will spin which prevents loosening off the bolt. Once loosened you'll...

Can you give LibreCAB container parameters & battery dimensions and ask it to populate the container with batteries optimally? If not, is there any software that could this or do you just manually play around with the software for bit?

I can't guarantee it, but other Pedelecs have changed and/or add to the supplied chain ring with Bafang motors.s

How to make a lightweight battery

Thanks Pete. Any views on these (or others) from Amazon? Only asking as I got Amazon credit to use up. Obviously, most interested in the first listed due to its claimed 35A rating...

Then put a bigger or an extra chain ring on the front. Not too expensive and it'd be well worth it my opinion.

Not sure which cog you're referring to with 9th (the largest?) and how many speed your cassette is (9?), but I've always preferred SRAM cassettes to others at the low & mid price ranges. However, there's a lot more choice in recent times and there are a few brands I haven't tried.

My eBike build (very, very pic heavy)

Great post! The battery box and the spot welding details are of particular interest for my own project. Are you going to use your bench supply to recharge your battery pack? For my project, I'm now struggling with going for the GSM motor which is cheaper. However, you have source an external...

    Haibike Radius Tour?

Which section would you suggest? I'd of thought someone that had reviewed a Haibike would be ideally suited to answering my query

    Haibike Radius Tour?

Anybody know if Haibike are fairly consistent with their frame geometries for fit and rider dimensions? I've found it fairly easy to arrange a test ride a Haibike MTB, but very difficult to test ride anything else.

Could be interested in one of these if development is going ahead. What's the approx cost to add the phone charging function?

How to make a lightweight battery

For 10s2p, I'm I correct in assuming you'd need 2 of the BMS boards linked to earlier at AliExpress (I've not been able source them from anywhere else) to cope with the 20 cells? Are there readily available low cost BMS boards that can handle 10s2p, 10s3p, 10s4p, etc. or can the above BMS cope...

    Gtech bike panniers?

I tried the GTech with a fortnight demo a few years ago (I don't know if they still do this), There was a lot to like about it, although the competition has moved on whereas of the GTech hasn't changed as far as I know. Firstly, the crossbar version is probably too big for you. I'm 5'8" and it...

    Recumbant trike query

Thanks for link to Marc's solution. I've seen that blog before, but missed that particular post. However, using Ortlieb panniers would work out to be quite an expensive option, but I realise keeping the battery dry is crucial., All I know is I don't pedal anywhere near as hard and far as I use...

    Recumbant trike query

Unfortunately I was hit by car a couple of months ago, so my original donor trike is now a write off. A hit and run too! Fortunately, I've now got a replacement. It has a 26" instead of a 20" rear wheel, but as I'm still planning on using a mid drive I don't suppose that matters. Still...
