Yes, because I was getting peddle assist I assumed the controller was picking up the pulse from the hall effect. I tried it earlier with the magnet removed and as you say it still worked. I reattached the magnet and all is working again, even in MPH. I think the gap is just about at the limit...

Finally got around to taking a photo of the sprocket side of the crankset. Looks like I'll not need to strip anyhow, it if they both come equipped.

I can see that the TDZS has its own cranks, but I've not seen mention of them with the Bafang. The Bafang setup is approximately $100 more, about £77. Is it worth the extra as I'm ready to click the Paypal button? Thanks Pete

I'm no expert and use the forum for information, but if you don't have a motor rated at 250 Watt with the rating stamped on it, I understand it's not road legal.
