    Brexit, for once some facts.

What is the GCHQ view on Huawei? If they are in favour, are our spies going to be spying on their spies. Where's my tin foil hat.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

I cut my own and dry it for at least twelve months. I don't have a device for measuring the water content but the weight tells you how much there is and you soon get used to making a judgement. I suppose I could measure the electrical conductivity and get a more precise measurement after a bit...

    Factory Reset.

Yes, because I was getting peddle assist I assumed the controller was picking up the pulse from the hall effect. I tried it earlier with the magnet removed and as you say it still worked. I reattached the magnet and all is working again, even in MPH. I think the gap is just about at the limit...

    Factory Reset.

It seems to be in the right place and I still get peddle assist, but I'll try again tomorrow. I'll remove it completely and see if it makes any difference. Thanks

    Factory Reset.

I changed the display from KPH to MPH and since then, although everything works fine, I get no speed indication. I've tried reverting to KPH but still no go. I've also disconnected the battery for a few seconds to no avail. Is there a way to do a factory reset on the VLCD5 or are there any...

    TSDZ2 conversion kit arrived today.

I have some of that but never use it. Thanks for the tip, now I have to find i! A few of my neighbors have taken it around the block and the universal reaction on the motor kicking 9n has been "oh my god" or " bloody hell". What is the view on using loctite or similar on the mounting bolts ETC?

    TSDZ2 conversion kit arrived today.

I've only used a couple of cable ties so far and taped the wiring because I need to shorten the motor cables and put different connectors on there, but thanks for the advice. Been out on the bike, only did about half a mile to get the feel for it and it was spitting a bit of rain. Climbed the...

    TSDZ2 conversion kit arrived today.

Ten working days after I placed my order the kit arrived at lunchtime today. I'd already stripped down the crank set, so I slid the motor into the bottom bracket. Wasted some time looking for some 25mm M5 bolts and some 10mm spacers to replace the ones fitted to the motor before I realised they...

    How do I, Should I?

I can see them with Aliexpress for about £20. I'll order one and change it before the blue one expires, or maybe it's OK to run it until the blue one gives in?

    How do I, Should I?

Thanks for your help, and thanks to all the others who have contributed. I finally opted for a TDSZ and a 36V 14.5 AH 522 WH battery. Paid just over £400, all duties included. Should I order a spare "blue" gear, as they seem to be prone to stripping?

    How do I, Should I?

Thanks again for the info. I'm sure when I get the kit, if I find the bike needs some modifications or machining, I can crack it. If not I have a cousin who's an engineer with CNC machine tools, tigs ETC.

    How do I, Should I?

Finally got around to taking a photo of the sprocket side of the crankset. Looks like I'll not need to strip anyhow, it if they both come equipped.

    How do I, Should I?

I can see that the TDZS has its own cranks, but I've not seen mention of them with the Bafang. The Bafang setup is approximately $100 more, about £77. Is it worth the extra as I'm ready to click the Paypal button? Thanks Pete

    How do I, Should I?

Thank you. I am looking at the prices on a site in Germany. They are selling in $ so I'm taking an interest in the exchange rate at the moment. I'm glad I've waited as the pound has gone from about $1.18 to $1.32 in the time I've been prevaricating.

    How do I, Should I?

OK, I'm planning on getting a Bafang BBS01B36V250W or a TSDZ2-36V 250W. Probably leaning toward the Bafang though. Been a bit occupied with other stuff since my first posts on the forum, and the rain has not given me any incentive to get on with things, but spring is coming and I'm a perpetual...

    How do I, Should I?

Do you mean on the rear cluster, and specify 48 teeth for the motor?

    How do I, Should I?

I'll take a photo from the other side. There are three other bikes in the workshop so I can do a swap or just take a grinder to the one I've got. What do you mean by 1x?

    How do I, Should I?

As you can see I've got the cranks off. I've also removed the "cassette?". I now need to know how to separate the crank from the gear cluster. I have done some Googling & checked YouTube but they only show me how to do the bits I've already done. The existing large sprocket has 48 teeth, as I...

Difference between delimited 250w motor VS 500w motor

I'm no expert and use the forum for information, but if you don't have a motor rated at 250 Watt with the rating stamped on it, I understand it's not road legal.
