Pull the controller out of the controller box, and trace the battery cables to the battery poles. You'll have a red and black cable. Red is + black is - take a look at which side the - and + connections are when the battery is in the bike, and then make sure that the battery landing terminal...

I'd definitely suggest getting a multimeter, just to be certain...if you wire it up the wrong way, there is a chance you could blow the controller.

And, if they're not the same, it's a pretty easy job to turn the terminal block around in either the battery or on the bike.
