    Visibility

Hi Allen Return PM sent - not so much about swinging it, more to do with just one eye working at the time of the tests so little real option! The whole experience though does make you realise just how poor some peoples vision can be and they still hold a licence and continue to drive. Parking...

Your views on Trek electric bikes.

Hi Steve Hope you dont mind a non pedelec question in response to the above... I`m about to buy a new non elec bike and have been looking at the Trek range. The FX7.2 has caught my eye as a reasonably priced hybrid, however, the FX 7.5 does look tempting. I`m wondering if I would notice...

    Visibility

Ignoring for a moment the tongue in cheek (I hope) comments and jokes and back to the OP question... I take being as visible as I can very seriously and do all I can to help motorists see me as far away as possible - whether on my normal push bike, Ezee Sprint or my Honda PCX When I first...

Kindle So - e-readers such as the Amazon Kindle - a force for good if the "yoof" can be persuaded to use it? I agree ref book reading and thankfully both of mine are avid readers, but I also accept that they are both wed to their electronic gadgets too. (They are 18 and 16 yrs old) Any...

    is this a silly question?

I think I`m legal!!! I have fitted a switch to my Ezee to restrict / de-restrict it. This switch is located within a section of inner tube (for waterproofing obviously, although curiously this plus the position makes it almost invisible unless you know its there) and mounted on the frame...

Does a fit person need an ebike?

Making the presumption that I am reasonably fit (never been completely sure how you measure that) I`ll throw in my two-penneth; Ref 1 above, - does not apply to me thankfully Ref 2 above, - its not worked out like that, I still always need a shower after my commute in, although I admit...

16 Mile Towpath commute,is it realistic?

Ref Scooters - I bought one of these in September as an additional option for my commuting needs - chang of job now means e-bike is not always practical as daily miles creep over 60 some days - not so much the range as the time. I passed my car test in 1985 so could ride a 50cc scoot with no...

e bike for a retiring colleague - any advice

Perspective? I dread to think what the original poster must be thinking about the way this thread has developed - perhaps its best viewed that e-bike owners are an enthusiastic bunch who get passionate about their bikes? A couple of observations - 1.Its not a mass market product - e...

Lusty Beg Island No - still not buying it This explanation from Flecc is far too complete and plausable to be believed. I have done a bit of research and think I can reveal the truth Flecc has obviously recently won a holiday on a remote luxury island (see here) and was letting us...

Radio 4 Join the Bike Helmet Debate

An interesting debate as always and I really do hope it remains up to individuals to decide. I do / have done four activities where helmets can come into play (ignoring work on construction sites) Motorcycling - its the law, so always worn one whether its a 3 min journey to the paper shop...
