    Riese & Muller Tinker City

Hi Matthew, yes would be interesting to.know if you eventually chose the R and M Tinker, sounds perfect for your needs. We have a Tinker in the family, my wife's bike but I don't need much persuading to take it out when she is not using it. Both Haibike and R and M are good quality, but I was...

    New eBikes and cyclists

Have ridden our Tinker on bridleways, canal towpaths and gravel paths with no problems at all. The wheels are very strong and the tyres do a great job. The longest day ride on the road was 110 miles with panniers, and it handled really well, solid on the road even on fast downhills. I did have a...

    New ebike owner

Great report Dave, always good to hear when someone rediscovers cycling and becomes enthusiastic again. It's a great interest and there,s some great kit out there that's both practical and safe. Getting out for a ride helps you unwind and become more mindful, apart from the obvious physical...

would like to contribute to politics of road-sharing

Think one problem could be that those that make the ultimate decision of the type of and configuration of cycle lanes and junction types etc, may not ride a bicycle.

    ebike convert after 50 years!

I tend to think that cheaper bikes can be more expensive. If you are able to spend a few quid more to get a better bike then you will probably use it more, I usually divide the cost by the miles used so the more it's used the cheaper it is per mile. The most expensive bikes can sometimes be the...

    Battery reconditioning cost?

Take your point Soundwave, maybe I should change my focus. In the past I've done a lot of long distance events, 150 miles on a sunday on a conventional bike was a regular thing, but now ime a lot older I,m not involved in those events anymore. I,m more of a leisure cyclist now and thought of a...

    Battery reconditioning cost?

Thanks Pete, that's good to know. And on the subject of chargers, I see Bosch have brought out a fast 6 amp charger, any idea if Yamaha may do the same?

    Battery reconditioning cost?

Thanks for replies guys, don't need re celling just yet but am looking forward, as my 2 batteries are 2016 and 2017 made. Don't seem too bad on range, although the cold weather miles are less than summer miles by about 10% ish? Have read good reports about Insat, but does anybody in the Midlands...

    Battery reconditioning cost?

Are the Samsung cells regarded as the best? Would like the most I could get in the standard Yamaha casing really. Not sure how much it would cost though, assume it must be favourable to buying new?

    Battery reconditioning cost?

Anyone know the approximate cost of replacing cells in a Yamaha battery for a Haibike? Either 400 or 500 watt/hour, would prefer not to do it myself but understand there are companies that carry out this sort of work. Anyone know of one in the Midlands and what they might charge?

Haibike hard 7 for spares repairs or parts

Hi Scott, Just checking for spare parts and wondered if you know if bike is a 2015 or 2016 model. The two are different for both the screen and the holder/ operating button unit thingy. Apparently the 2015 model had 3 functions, and the 2016 model had 4, with the eco+ mode. Cheers, Rob.

    Witty replies

Hi all, Any thoughts on a witty reply to the inevitable shouts of "hey that's cheating!" from unassisted riders? Personally I find it's best to be polite and good humoured when replying, my favourite being "cheating,s good!" Accompanied with a big smile!

    Cycling again after many years

Welcome Ian, great that you have discovered the benefits of ebiking both physically and general enjoyment. More and more are discovering how much better they are than conventional bikes for the majority.

    New e-bike owner

Hi Andy, hope the cold is subsiding. Am interested to know what you think of the Bosch Active Line Plus motor as am considering that Cube next year. At present I have a Haibike Trekking with the Yamaha PW motor, but want to eventually swap to Bosch as my wife has a Riesse and Muller Tinker with...

    Switched to Haibike SduroTrekking

The 2000 mile marker came up today after after 14 months of ownership, not once has this bike given any hint of any trouble at all when covering road and rough tracks. The Yamaha PW system in my eyes is great, quiet and reliable with loads of torque. The battery still charges up too 100% and...
