Compact, short range, quality commuter bike?

Must beg to differ, rode and folded both, bought a B with my own money !! Brompton is million times better. Why do you think they have the market to them selves ? Products only survive because they do the job they are purchased for better than the competition. ;)

Compact, short range, quality commuter bike?

Don't think you would be able to tell the difference between 16 & 20 inch wheels blindfolded. ;) I have ridden both for quite long rides and actually find the 16 better but that because the bike that they were on was a better bike than the 20" one :) The quality of the whole bike is far more...

    Momentum Upstart gearing mods

Got an 18t as standard and they are the normal Sram, S/A, 3 lug fitting. So no probs going to a 19 or 20 i think. Would just like to hear from someone who has done it to see how it feels compared with the original 18t. Unfortunately no spares listing and apparently no spares are available :(...

    Giant Lafree Twist 'Lite' F/S

An oldie but a goodie ! Still one of the lightest E-bikes out there, with a step through frame too. Still good for 20 miles per charge and all in good running order. New-ish tyres, Marathon on the front and Marathon Plus on the back. Up graded V brakes. Front dynamo light and rear LED...

    Momentum Upstart gearing mods

Anyone on here experimented with rear cog size changes? Tried one a few days ago and found the cadence too slow for my liking. Otherwise a fantastic bike....i loved it ;)

    Crank drive info please

That bike looks really good except the price !! Maybe their 9 speed one at £1600 will be as good. Not a big deal but to be honest i think the 8 speed is just about right for an Ebike. Ebikes don't seem to need the close gears like a normal bike and if you look at the price of the chain and...

    How to avoid Roadrage...

Emo, same stuff whatever you take on the roads, just applied differently. Not me, but read "Cyclecraft" by John Franklin. Think IAM produce a similar publication called something like "Advanced Cycling" it's the same John Franklin stuff but updated. Also worth a butchers is the "Bikeability"...

    Crank drive info please

Had a look at that but discounted it because of it's limited range even with the two batteries. The latest sophisticated crank drive bikes seem to have the best range, 60 miles plus in some cases..............................really?

    How to avoid Roadrage...

Assertive does not mean bossy, cocky or arrogant. What it means is riding where you can be SEEN all the time and making that your responsibility not the responsibility of the other road users. We, as cyclists, have a place and a right on the road and we share the road with all the other...

    How to avoid Roadrage...

Defensively, no. That sort of implies "combat"! Assertively, yes. That sort of implies "it's OK to be here"

    Crank drive info please

Deffo don't want a MTB type thingy. That's why i like the Momentum Upstart but i'm not sure about the drive system. Think the torque sensor is a bit unsophisticated, anyone know more about it?

    A Statement from Bosch

Suppose the question is whether we want to be cyclists (with a little bit of help) or motorcyclists (with all the controls from gov. depts. like VOSA) 'cos i reckon as sure as "eggs are eggs" bureaucratic government departments will get involved once we are seen as anything other than cyclists...

Hi KTM, Was recommended your Ebike by a dealer :) really want one of your big 990cc adventure bikes !! Seriously....I want a bike that is as much like my unassisted bicycle as possible with a good range for cycle touring type stuff. 60 miles would be good 80 miles would be brill, 100 miles...

    Crank drive info please

Been riding a Giant Lafee Twist Lite (old panasonic crank drive) for a good few years now. Thinking that i may like to get another newer bike so after having a look around i was wondering if anyone can succinctly explain the differences between the current crank drive systems on the market...
