Just noticed Aurora now in kit form:-)

Having read all the bad feedback regarding BMSBattery I think I'd like to stick to suppliers who have good feedback and no gamble on import tax.

Just noticed Aurora now in kit form:-)

I noticed that the other day when I purchased a Thumb throttle from their site. Said throttle arrived today (brilliant service) and is really high quality, I always wanted an Aurora but I can only ride a step-through so maybe my dreams may yet come true.

    man on the moon

I for one cannot seriously believe that the Mars rover can be used to 'launch' Will-i-ams new single !!! If mankind was there surely we would at least play something decent.

What daft madness is this ?!

I'm sure I saw something like that in a Soho shop years ago :D

Is this the bike for you?

It's illegal to discriminate against the disabled but your Goverment are doing it now. Electric bike have been around long before Pedelecs. it strikes me that those who oppose anything different from their 'rules' usually have a financial stake in it somewhere. Rules are made to be broken...

    Cycling under the rain

In my single-handed sailing days I used a spinnaker http://http://www.macgregor26.com/spinnakers/spinnakers.htm along with 'sock' Fareastsails.com - Cruising Spinnaker Sock or Sausage which furled it pretty rapidly. Something like the 'sock' could come in handy with a following wind when...

Is this the bike for you?

My disability means that although I can move the pedals around most of the time I couldn't actually ride without electric assistance. However I would love to try this bike but to be honest I'm happy with 15mph but if I could do it uphill ;)

    Twin motor, 2 wheel drive

Does that mean that all kits are illegal? as I've never seen any labels included. However I recall buying a 750w cyclone years ago with a supply of 259w stickers!

    Twin motor, 2 wheel drive

I thought i had seen this on here in the past http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/electric-bicycles/5970-twin-hub-powertrek-gets-thumbs-up.html

    Twin motor, 2 wheel drive

Going back to the legality, if two legal kits were fitted front and rear, presumably used one at a time that would still be legal. What happens when used together with a shared throttle? as I see it the top speed (assisted) dosn't alter. mind you why you'd do it I still don't understand unless...

    Twin motor, 2 wheel drive

looking a d8veh's brilliant thread on his latest build has got me wondering 1/ apart from better traction what advantage does 2 wheel drive give? &2/ if similar was done with 200 or250w motors would it be legal?

    cycle carriers

It's a problem we have in our household with 4 'normal' bikes and 3 electric (we only take 5 bikes with us). On an Astra Sports Tourer we put 4 normal on the roof and hang the electric on the back using a Saris Bones with no problem. The only thing I do is use a pair of straps from the roof...

    Unusual folding MTB e-bike

it may be worth investigating the whole import issue European wide. I was speaking to a French e-biker who bought his bike through a club in east-Germany. They get enough orders to fill a container then proceed with the order & manage to pay a lot less than we pay here. All within EU rules.

    Gas Attack?

I've traveled a lot in a Motorhome and the urban myth about Gas Attack often crops up. funnily enough Les Flic's nave no record of it ever actually happening and doubt if such a gas exists, they usually put it down to lots of fresh air, open windows/doors and perhaps too much wine.

    BMS Battery, Customs duty?

Actually I know you are absolutely right about Kudos, in fact it's a bit of a no-brainer really. Their 36v 10ah as fitted to the Tourer & King model is actually a couple of quid cheaper than the BMS equivalent & I had a saddle from them and cannot fault the excellent customer service.

    BMS Battery, Customs duty?

I was looking at Hobbyking but must admit I find it a bit confusing, not really sure what would be the best to give me 36v 10aH, or 12,15aH. The BMS LiPO4 36Volts.10aH, weighs in @ 4.5kg and has Lifecycle: 2000Cycles for £201 if not caught for taxes. I know the Hobbyking gear is highly regarded...

    BMS Battery, Customs duty?

When ordering from BMS how likely is it to be stung for duty? I always get a shock when ordering anything from the USA, (must be our special relationship) but I'm quite tempted by the BMS Lipo's
