    Yose power kit

Well done, I rode my first conversion on throttle only for months without complaint. Eventually fitted a PAS, big fan now.

    Yose power kit

Fitting a PAS to Hollowtech cranks is a problem, take a look at the yosepower thread there are a number of suggestions there. The postage from Yosepower for a single item is extortionate, cheaper from here...

Advice wanted for DIY Welsh commuter (Trek FX conversion?)

Hi Benny croeso, an e-bike virgin, if you'll excuse the phrase, will underestimate the amount of assistance that a 250 watt motor provides. I am of pensionable age and have no problem negotiating the hills of the Brecon Beacons. Only failed once on an 18% gradient, I'm going to try again with...

    1961 motocomfort mobylette

I assume it's been off the road for many years, (check the number on DVLA website) if so, you'll have to factor in £55 for registration and £30 for dating certificate. The 'Buzzing club' may be able to help.

    Yose power kit

Why don't you get the correct kit?, they are available in freewheel and cassette

    Yose power kit

Depends on how hilly the route is, overall my battery consumption is around 7Wh per mile so something approaching 40 miles, but I only use assistance when the going gets tough.

    Yose power kit

Yes, but with a different battery (only 7Ah) fitted to a Trek Shimano 105 10speed cassette. TBH rear motor is much nicer on a sports bike, the 10 speed cassette required deletion of the 1mm washer located between the cassette and wheel, and the wheel needed dishing by a couple of mm. Well worth...

    Yose power kit

That's odd, mine doesn't have a 350w sticker, must have fallen off.

    Yose power kit

Yes easily, unless you want to do the whole distance on throttle only.

    Be Prepared

If someone is truly stuck in the middle of nowhere, the old trick was to stuff the tyre with dead grasses, I've done it on a pushbike - only slightly better than walking. Should be easier on an ebike.

    The end of the Pedelec!

It seems that many people have a downer on e-scooters, I think they can serve a useful function especially in cities. If it cuts down on traffic congestion and pollution it's got to be good, they can be carried on tubes, trains and buses and would be useful for 'the last mile' as they say. I...

    City hopper throttle

E07 is 'motor fault' according to the Chinglish instructions, despite the code, everything seems to work perfectly so I'm not stressing about it, but it would be interesting to know what's causing it. Others have said the code disappears after first use of the throttle, but not in this case...

    City hopper throttle

A quick update on the above, it was felt that the existing setup was a little feeble for his needs. We upgraded to a 36v battery, the no load speed is now 23 mph and it'll smoke the front tyre. I warned him that the bike was now technically illegal, he said, and I quote, 'They can kiss my a**e'...

    City hopper throttle

Thanks Vfr, you were right. I think the signal and +ve wires on the PAS connection were crossed. Thinking about it, it makes sense. The back EMF generated by rolling the motor backwards would send a signal similar to turning the pedals? of course this could be complete bollarks. Temporary...

    City hopper throttle

Thanks for the speedy reply Vfr, I'll double check everything tomorrow. It's almost as if the throttle and PAS connection have been crossed, but if that was the case surely neither would work?.

    City hopper throttle

Further to previous replies, a new brainpower controller and an s866 lcd have been fitted, a bit of a bargain at £28 complete. After much faffing around with P settings and new male/female plugs everything has been fitted (correctly I think). Throttle to black/red/white, PAS to black/red/blue...

    Motor & Battery Combination.

Don't know what they've got in the way of demos, tell them you can't decide between crank or hub drive, maybe they'll let you try both. I've never ridden a crank drive so I can't comment, all bikes ride diffently but there is not a huge difference between rear drive 250watt motors so it will...
