Hi all new to the e-bike

Hi Kez, welcome to the forum, don't get hung up on torque values, if you want to know why then read this article https://electricbikereview.com/forum/threads/torque-rating-on-e-bikes-marketing-gimmick.2467/ Range, component quality, reliability, fit and function are more important. My advice...

Cheap kit to make a big hill feel like a small hill?

My advice would be to arrange a test ride with Halfords in Parc-Y-Llyn and ride from there to Penglais hill and back, you'll be surprised. I'm not suggesting that you buy from Halfords, but it will give you an indication of performance. In my experience (I also live in hilly Wales), there isn't...

    Road bike conversion

The ten speed shimano cassette fitted easily, I don't think the 11 speed will fit on this freehub without modification i.e. removal of one cog. The total width is a shade under 35mm, I think you need 38mm for 11 cogs. If you swap the 11 speed cassette for a 10 speed you might have indexing...

    Road bike conversion

I was in much the same position as you 6 months ago, not wanting to permanently modify my 'best' bike, I've now fitted a rear Yosepower kit to it and glad I did. I bought a Cyclotricity front wheel kit in March, the carbon forks had a 100mm dropout but were too narrow to accommodate the motor...

    Yosepower vs cyclo

I have both cyclotricity fwd, and a Yosepower rear kit. Of the two the Yosepower kit at under £200 is the best value. You might have to spend a little more for a suitable pas and brake cutoffs, but the same applies to the cyclotricity kit. Check out the prices on a like for like basis. I prefer...

people completly unaware anyone else is on cycle path/canal path etc

There are inconsiderate pedestrians and cyclists, it must be remembered that we share this facility, and are lucky we are able to do so. A roadie whizzing by at 20 mph without so much as a 'ping' when I'm walking, upsets me more than a dog walker impeding progress when I'm cycling.

serious Commute -is it even possible

For example, Honda PCX 125, under £3000 o.t.r. , road Tax £19, fuel economy would be at least 100 m.p.g. If you don't have a motorcycle license you have to factor in the cost of a CBT every 2 years if you don't pass the relevant test. If you passed your car test before 2001, you can ride a 50cc...

I picked up one of these the other day, haven't had a chance to use it yet but I'm hoping it'll make them dopey gits jump.

    KT-LCD3 battery accuracy settings

I expect I'll get the hang of it. After yesterday's run there were no bars left on the display and the voltage was 35.9, I think I'd call it flat. Before anyone derides me for hammering the battery, I don't really care, the sooner this one dies, the sooner I can justify the purchase of a bigger...

    Yosepower hub kits.

Something similar on the German pedelec forum https://www.pedelecforum.de/forum/index.php?threads/günstiges-und-robustes-umbauset.46518/page-8 Might be worth a look (you'll need google translate unless you sprechen sie Deutch) Pete.

    Yosepower hub kits.

First run out on the newly converted Trek yesterday. Very pleased with performance and ride comfort. I've put a 28mm tyre on the rear, which is about the maximum the frame will take. I have a slight indexing problem on the larger rear sprockets which should be easy to fix, and it appears that I...

    KT-LCD3 battery accuracy settings

The LCD3 functions are new to me, I was led to believe that battery voltage is not the best indicator of power remaining. Can it show total watt usage since last reset?.

    Yosepower hub kits.

I'm trying to keep it as neat and simple as possible, I'm not using a throttle and I don't feel I need brake cutoffs. The power stops immediately when you stop pedaling, you just have to be careful when negotiating tight spaces. Pete.

    Yosepower hub kits.

Fitted the PAS this morning, quite a simple and easy procedure. I took off the left crank and removed a 4mm washer that sits between the crank arm and bottom bracket. Used a small blade to remove the 'fingers' from the magnet ring, this happened to coincide with the inner diameter of the washer...

    Yosepower hub kits.

Sorry it's taken a while to get back to you, been touring France and Germany on my little Honda, amazed by the number of e-bikes being used around the Rhine and Moselle, outnumbering pushbikes by about 5 to 1. Back to the PAS, it's not going to work as I'd hoped it would, how stupid am I?. The...

    Yosepower hub kits.

I ordered the Julet connection, I've been looking for a well engineered RHS pas for some time. I don't normally like anything that requires zip ties, but at least this one is cheap enough to experiment with, and I won't need to dismantle the bottom bracket. Will report back once fitted. The...

    Yosepower hub kits.

Hope it works, I just ordered one. The plan is to glue 5 magnets into the granny ring allen bolts, a much neater solution. The Yosepower KT PAS was £12 with a £15 delivery charge, wouldn't pay that on principle. They refused to send it in an envelope, DHL only, hence the charge. Thanks for the...

    Insurance warning

I may be preaching to the converted, but do an an on-line quote before renewing your insurance. I have home insurance with Direct line, partly because they treat e-bikes the same as push bikes. I got a renewal notice a couple of days ago, and because I don't like to get ripped off, I did an...

Yose power kits back in stock.

I don't know if the question is directed at me or Woosh. Tony of Woosh is far more qualified to answer, but AFAIK if the max speed is set 15.5 mph on the display then it's legal isn't it?. The throttle question is totally confusing to me, I'll continue to use mine until the definitive ruling is...
