    KT-LCD1 to KT-LCD3

I don't know what joining the Tx and Rx pins would achieve, I've discovered that if I hotwire position 1 and 5 on the socket it has exactly the same effect as using the blanking plug. In one of D8veh's posts, he shows the connection details of all the pins of Julet connections. I can't...

    KT-LCD1 to KT-LCD3

I have a problem, I'm a bit of a perfectionist (it's a hard cross to bear at times), and sometimes don't take advice because it doesn't fit with what I believe. It was like this when I thought I only needed a throttle to help when the going got tough. I've heard many people suggest that I...

    KT-LCD1 to KT-LCD3

Thanks for the link awol, because I intend using the road bike unpowered 90% of the time (only using a little throttle when things get tough), I want to keep the triple chainset. In my mind, I've placed the sensor on the bottom bracket, and fixed the magnets directly to the 'granny ring'...

    KT-LCD1 to KT-LCD3

Thanks for the info Neal, colours and continuity checks are difficult with Julet cables. BTW is it pronounced Julay or Julette?. The throttle works the motor from zero start with lcd3 connected, P4 =0, so I'm assuming the throttle and connections are good, tried a spare new throttle with the...

    KT-LCD1 to KT-LCD3

Yes, I've done that and it works perfectly with the lcd plugged in, but when I disconnect the lcd and pas and return it to the original setup (with blanking plug connected) I get no response from the throttle. I've checked and double checked all connections, it's frustrating, I'll try again...

    KT-LCD1 to KT-LCD3

I assumed that a controller was basically an inert collection of 'off the shelf' electronic components, but after browsing on ES, they talk about 'flashing' controllers with bespoke programming, it's a pity d8veh is no longer participating, he could probably throw some light on the subject...

Yose power kits back in stock.

egroover, I'm relatively new to the ebike scene but learning fast. I'm sticking with 36v as I don't need the extra performance of a 48v system. If you get a complete 48v system, then it's no problem, but if you mix and match you have to ensure the controller is up to the job in terms of...

    KT-LCD1 to KT-LCD3

Hi Tryker, I'm so sorry, I appear to have posted in your thread by mistake. It was meant to go into my previous thread about Yose power kits. If I delete it now, it will confuse readers. Anyway your assumption is completely correct regarding the green connector, the throttle connector and the...

Yose power kits back in stock.

Sorry about the double posting, I hijacked Trykers thread by mistake, it's a sign of impending old age. My Yose power kit arrived this morning, the motor wheel was installed into a 130mm dropout without any issues, it almost fell in after removing a spacer that was installed behind the cassette...

    KT-LCD1 to KT-LCD3

My Yose power kit arrived this morning, the motor wheel was installed into a 130mm dropout without any issues, it almost fell in after removing a spacer that was installed behind the cassette on the old wheel. Here's hoping the photos will work this time :- Not much clearance, but adequate...

    KT-LCD1 to KT-LCD3

I got no answer from cyclotricity regarding using an LCD3 with their front wheel kit, so I e-mailed KT with a photo of my controller asking the same question. I got a reply within hours :- 'Hi Peter, I checked your controller, there is not special setting so you just buy a new LCD3 for...

Options for Conversion to E Bike

I was in a similar situation a few months ago, i.e. advancing years and rheumatoid meant that I needed more than a little help on the Welsh hills. I fitted a throttle only 250w Cyclotricity front wheel kit to a forty year old Raleigh, as a sort of 'suck it and see' experiment. I didn't want or...

Yose power kits back in stock.

It depends on your needs, the 11Ah battery fitted to the Raleigh is good for 40+ miles with 3000ft of climbing, or 50 miles with 2000ft of climbing, usually enough for a Sunday morning ride out. I have a little range anxiety simply because it's difficult hauling a heavy bike up a mountain, a...

Yose power kits back in stock.

Thought about a Xiongda YW06 but freewheel only, not available for cassette. Just about any kit is going to add 4 or 5 kilos with a half decent battery. 350W rear 700c cassette ( in black to match the front hub)...

Yose power kits back in stock.

Having covered 500+ miles in the last few months on my old Raleigh fitted with a Cyclotricity kit, I thought I might have regained enough fitness to get back on my (expensive) unpowered Trek roadbike. A couple of weeks ago I ventured out on it, I got a couple of miles (all uphill) before saying...

Neater/Simpler way to install the pedal sensor?

Why don't you just glue individual magnets directly to the 'granny gear'?. If it works with hot melt glue, do a proper job with epoxy or JB weld.

Need a cheap rear rack for a battery

Any strong pannier rack should be ok if you can make your own battery mounts, battery specific racks are available from BMS for $19. Be aware that rack mounted batteries will affect the handling more than frame mounted ones.

First e-bike, who to insure it with?

Direct Line cover bicycles up to £1000 as part of their home policy, and specifically mention e-bikes in the policy. Items over that value must be specified individually and will probably incur an extra charge.

36V Battery with BMS Protection for regen

I've seen this on you tube, brilliant idea, I assume the kite folds up and weighs very little so can be carried with the camping gear.

Advice on change of drive type
