    Ancheer first impressions

Don't know anything about safety issues, other than all two wheeled vehicles are inherently more unstable. By the way D8veh, the tyres are marked 26 x 1.95 and quite smooth running. 26 inch Imperial converts to 19.812 Chinese inches, so I don't what they're measuring either.

    Ancheer first impressions

Thanks for the comments D8veh, I'm relatively new to ebikes and still on the steep learning curve. I wondered about battery life, as an occasional user I'm expecting battery life to be around 2 or 3 years as opposed to the number of cycles a commuter would expect. Anyway, cheap compared to...

Guernsey first to apply ebike law?

A google search reveals a prosecution in 2011 for being 'Drunk in charge', and another for riding a segway on the pavement :- https://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/man-ended-up-six-points-12031624 Is anyone aware of any others?. Not that I'm particularly concerned 'cause my ride is...

Cyclotricity conversion kit - PAS problem?

You don't have to fit a PAS, although not strictly legal, Cyclotricity will sell you a throttle only system. That's what I did and I'm perfectly happy with it.

    Hi from County Durham

You seem to be favoring a mid drive, I guess it's because you live in a hilly area, disadvantages are that they are comparatively expensive and result in more wear and tear on the drivetrain. Before you take the plunge, beg, borrow or steal a geared hub drive ebike and try some big hills, I...

    Completely new to E-bikes

Hi Richard, How about one of these :- https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/25-Wheel-MTB-Mountain-E-Bike-Cycling-Bicycle-Aluminum-Alloy-Frame-250W-Motor/232574338961?ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&var=531959000311&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 Probably okay for occasional use and short range, and has a...

    Hi from County Durham

Hi CaptainCrash71, A few short weeks ago I was in the same position as you, bikes gathering cobwebs, but had never ridden an ebike, I can only speak from my limited experience thus far. I bought and fitted a front wheel Cyclotricity kit to my old steel framed Raleigh racer as a sort of 'suck it...

    Where Do You Live V2.0

    Yosepower hub kits.

Thanks Anders, that's exactly the information I needed. I couln't get a definitive answer regarding the fitment of the 10 speed cassette, if you have indexed STI levers any change to the cassette would cause problems. I'm also investigating using a different PA sensor to overcome the width...

    Yosepower hub kits.

anders.d. Said Having just installed a cyclotricity kit to my steel framed Raleigh, I'm so impressed that I want to install a Yose Power kit on my Trek road bike. I noticed your comments regarding the Shimano 105 components, I assume your bike is equipped with a Shimano105/10 speed cassette, if...

    Hello from Wales

Thanks for the quick replies, 100mm dropout, most components have been upgraded, alloy wheels and triple chainset, weinmann centre pull brakes, but still heavy compared with the Trek. I've been doing some more internet searches, and I've discovered the Swytch project which claims to be...

    Hello from Wales

Hi everyone, I'm a 66 year old cyclist who hasn't turned a wheel in over a year. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis this time last year, my symptoms have now eased and I would love to join my friends again on the Sunday ride outs, but I'm going to need some help on the hills and...
