    Pedelec Law - The Details

lt's interesting that my (and every) Mirider ebike will power along at around 15mph if you either hold the thumb button or set it to level 5. And you only need to keep turning the pedals no matter how slowly. So effectively that's a throttle as you're not contributing to the forward motion of...

    Are E-bikes overpriced?

The Mirider has an adjustable elastomer shock absorber l don't know how much travel it gives at the rear wheel, a few cm at the most but it makes a difference for sure

    Are E-bikes overpriced?

lt's the rear suspension that makes the Mirider so good, l've done 3,000 miles on mine so it's not just something l've read. The Onebot has the same suspension and is much cheaper, but the other parts are not as good. l would love to try a GoCycle as they look to be the next step up, but the...

    Are E-bikes overpriced?

Well, the Hitway does look a bargain on the surface. l had a go on a £700 Amazon Ebike while on holiday and while it looked great (and made me think l've been ripped off with the Mirider) it was terrible to ride. The ride was so harsh that on the first bump l thought l'd broken it. The lower...

    Are E-bikes overpriced?

The Mirider is good, l've done 3,000 miles on mine. The best thing about it is the rear suspension that really takes the edge off poor roads and tracks. Don't buy new though. In the U.K. at least there's a FB page for people selling the Mirider and you can get a practically new one for half the...

Problem with brand new Mirider Ebike

2,500 miles. It's always been a noisy motor. The cable exits downwards

Problem with brand new Mirider Ebike

Wow my old thread revived! I've still got the Mirider, it would manage around 15 miles in the hills around here as suggested above. lt was never as good as the first Mirider we had, it was always noisy, and last week the motor failed. l am going to fit a new wheel, it costs £250.

New Bosch bike throttle addition possible?

lol l meant a hand throttle on a 250w ebike, rather than having to turn the pedals very slowly.

New Bosch bike throttle addition possible?

On the Mirider the "boost" button will move the bike at 16mph and all you have to do is turn the pedals very slowly to keep it going at maximum speed. This is fully legal. What's the safety difference between that, and a throttle.

l'll fit those next time, thank you for the advice.

    Review MiRider One

2,000 miles on the Mirider now. The battery is still fine. The main rear suspension pivot developed play after 1,000 miles but a replacement was only £10. A couple of things have gone wrong with it. The pedals last around 500 miles. The freewheel failed at around 1,500 miles and it wasn't...

    Review MiRider One Road

l've done 2,000 miles on my Mirider 1 Generally l agree with the above review, with a few extra points. The main suspension pivot develops play after around 1,000 miles, causing rear wheel steering. A replacement is £10 but you need two large allen key sockets to replace it. l also have the...

    Pedelec Law - The Details

These electric motorcycles are a far cry from any pedelec, l've seen them around here. Typically the motor is upwards of 1600w with a top speed of 70mph or more. They are readily available online so hardly surprising the local scallys are razzing around on them. Also they are pretty much...

My Urban Mover 26S got stolen from my Car boot. DAMN THEFT!!!

Yes a little odd, why did he have a picture of an un-broken rear window on his car. And then a picture exactly the same but with the window smashed Long time ago though, the O/P hasn't been seen on here since 2012

Problem with brand new Mirider Ebike

So l've got a Mirider 1 and my missus has just got hers on RTW The new one isn't right, the range is poor (10 miles) and the battery indicator is down to 50% after as little as 2.5 miles. The bike is slower than mine and can't achieve the 15.5mph cutoff speed, managing about 14mph before...

    Helmet noise

Yes l have. At speed the front edge of the straps lift and makes the noise. lt's really loud, particularly if it's windy

    Helmet noise

lt's definitely the straps in front of my ears because if l press the strap with my finger the noise completely stops on that side. l'll try the "cat ears" idea !

    Helmet noise

Now here's an unusual one, l've never seen it discussed. My cycle helmet is a standard type and it's fine at lower speeds, however at speeds of 15mph the wind roar is actually quite excessive, worse than my motorcycle helmet. When descending hills or riding into the wind it's even worse and a...
