    Onebot S9 speed unlock

On my Mirider 1, which is based on the Onebot, you can get into the settings by turning on the computer, then IMMEDIATELY holding down the up and down buttons together for five seconds This gets the bike into programming mode, and although l haven't worked out what all the setting do, l have...

Hi and my first ebike 50+

Yes l accept it's only for serious MTB riding where you are going to need the gearing/control of a mid drive motor. For trail riding and light off road, a hub drive will provide plenty of good clean fun.

Hi and my first ebike 50+

Good points. I was talking more about the actual riding of the bike, rather than how easy it is to repair. l do take the point about repairs though. l've got both, although my mid drive is a Shimano, and there are no spares for the motor at all, so if it fails l am faced with a bill of nearly...

Hi and my first ebike 50+

So, Neilh you would take the Wisper over the Cube? Please elaborate

I think I may have talked myself out of buying an electric bike………for now anyway.

"Check out the review by Sue" With any ebike, if you look through the reviews there's always someone who thinks it's the biggest pile of junk ever to fall out of a shipping container.

Hi and my first ebike 50+

That Wisper 705 looks a nice bike, the larger wheels will always be a good thing. It's not a folding bike so unless you need it to fold, it looks like a good buy. The only thing l would say, is that if you don't need a folding bike it's close to the price of a bike with the mid mounted Bosch...

Hi and my first ebike 50+

l've just bought a Mirider folding ebike and it's really good, surprisingly comfortable ride and weighs only 17kg Worth a look Even thrashing it l can get 15-20 miles from a charge, and being U.K. based at least there's some comeback if you need spares or a repair.

    Mirider 1 off road

Another ride today, mainly on road but with nearly 2,000 feet of climbing, and some of the hills were stand on the pedals steep! The battery expired at the bottom of the last hill, but after l got off and started to push it, the motor came back to life, so l got back on and made it to the top...

    Mirider 1 wheel circumference change

No l never saw that one, but l need a second folding ebike so will take a look, thank you for the heads up. UPDATE it doesn't seem to be available, why is nobody selling this version in the U.K.?

    Pegasus macaron

Most likely okay, as they have the Bosch motor and battery. lf it dates from 2017 check the mileage, to see if the battery still has plenty of life. They can usually be charged around 500 times so a very rough estimate would be 10,000 miles, l doubt it will have done anything like that much.

    Mirider 1 wheel circumference change

The wheels on the Mirider actually measure 15" The controller will only select 14, 16 or 18" so it comes from the manufacturer set to 16"which makes the speedometer read about 8% high. So if you set it to 14" it reads around 8% low instead and the bike will go a bit faster. A 15" setting would...

    Wanted New battery

This is the issue with a lot of these "online ebikes" from China No spares backup or after sales. lf it fails under warranty (and the ship isn't stuck in the Suez Canal) you'll get a replacement. After that you are on your own. That's why l bought my Ebike from a company based in the U.K., it...

Halfords - coyote connect folding bike

Yeah the Onebot is half the price. However There's more differences (between the Mirider and Onebot) than just the controller, my friend has the Onebot S6 and l've got the Mirider 1 The Mirider is just better all round, the brakes are better, the seat post has more adjustment, the saddle is...

Looking for ebike for rough gravel and road

As above, hardtail or full suspension MTB if you plan to ride regularly on rough tracks. However the good ones start at £2,000 or £3,000 for full suspension.

Halfords - coyote connect folding bike

Ah okay. So it's a bit different to mine then, l had seen these "3 speed" controllers and wondered how they worked. On mine you set the assistance level and then you can ride it as fast as you want, with the assistance provided, up to 15.5mph

    Mirider 1 wheel circumference change

l've found out how to change the wheel circumference on my Mirider 1. l was messing with the controller and l held down the "boost" button while turning on the power. The display then showed "OPTIONS 1" Nothing else happened so l turned off the power. l then discovered (and l don't know if...

You could try a lower assistance mode, maybe 2 rather than 3 On my Kona the cutoff is a bit abrupt in the maximum power mode.

Halfords - coyote connect folding bike

On that bike? Highly unlikely. However you should be getting more than 14mph out of it. My Mirider does just over 16mph before the assistance cuts off and it doesn't pulsate at that speed, the assistance just fades until it's gone by 16.5mph l guess ebikes have come on a bit since yours was...

    Mirider 1 off road

Last weekend l collected the missus's Mirider 1 The bike is for holidays in the caravan, hopefully l will be taking my Kona FS Ebike. However l've been having some fun on the Mirider, l did a 19 mile ride on Tuesday and tonight l decided to try one of my regular off road routes. It's obviously...
