    Mirider 1 off road

l am surprised that this thread didn't generate any interest. l am still using the Mirider but less off road now, done over 1,000 miles and still running perfectly

Haibike Hardseven 2016 STOLEN IN SUTTON,SURREY

Well it was stolen six years ago and it's likely the owner has moved on years ago, hasn't been on this forum for years either, the bike is in Sweden you say? l guess it's possible, but would it be worth recovering it after all this time?

lf you attach a GPS speedometer to your bike, you will almost certainly find that the bike's speedometer over reads by 1-2mph

ideally 15kg e-bike for a 15m commute (total there and back) ideally under £800 in London

It seems everyone has their own chain care plan! l just use GT85 on mine and have found that the chain lasts 2-3 times as long as with regular chain oil, plus the drive train stays clean (before it would get covered in black gunge and needed the cassette dismantling to clean it)

    Motor repairs

That's why l was asking if anyone had used them. lt means that if the Shimano motor on my mountain bike develops any kind of fault, l need to pony up £900-1,000 for a new motor. l did contact them asking if they could service my motor as it's done over 3,000 miles but they flatly refused to...

    Motor repairs

Has anyone used these people, and how did you get on? They claim to be able to service and repair all makes of high end mid-drive motors including Shimano (which many say can't be serviced, repaired or even dismantled without permanently "bricking " them) https://www.e-motorrepairs.co.uk/services/

Hello from another new ebike owner

Welcome aboard. l am a regular mountain bike rider. (13,000 miles in my last bike) l've never looked back since buying my ebike, and after 14 months (and 4,000 miles) of ebike riding l am no less fit than l was before. l collected an ordinary bike from my LBS and rode it home for a friend last...

    Should I buy it?

A mid mounted motor is better, because it drives through the gears. But l agree with the above, unless you are riding serious off road a hub motor is fine and a lot simpler/cheaper to repair. l've got both, and l've found myself using the hub motor bike more, because it's actually more fun to...

    Should I buy it?

Ah okay l didn't know that. Looks like l was wrong on battery prices as well. £795, and not rebuildable.... crikey that will write off an older ebike.

More investigation reveals it's a startup scheme, so the bike doesn't actually exist yet. They are offering "half price" if you invest now (that is, pre pay for a bike for delivery when they start manufacturing) but it's a risk.

    Should I buy it?

£800 for a battery, are they that expensive? My Shimano 504Wh is expensive but not that much. l would expect nearer £400 or it could maybe be recelled, if necessary

That actually looks very good for the money, the fork is a proper one with compression/rebound adjustment although it doesn't say anything about the shock. l would take a chance and buy one. However the company is in the USA so l doubt they will ship to the U.K.

ideally 15kg e-bike for a 15m commute (total there and back) ideally under £800 in London

I've got a Mirider and it's really good, true range if you thrash it (level 3/5 all the time) is 15-20 miles. Ridden more carefully it will exceed 30 miles. Woosh Rambletta looks great and is £500 cheaper as well, but l haven't ridden one so can't comment any further than that.

Help! What should be the budget for an e-bike?

Good idea there. Also if you buy from Halfords you've got somewhere to take it back if necessary (as long as you buy from the store in person, and not online)
