    KT controller question

Okay, so l must have a geared hub then. Thank you for the information, l will forget the "regeneration" settings. I did manage to activate the "cruise" control though l am unlikely to use it tbh. Quite novel though, just sitting there while the bike trundles along at 15mph l also found a...

    KT controller question

My Mirider is fitted with the KT LCD5 controller. l've been in the setup menu and there's an option to turn on regenerative braking. lt's set to "off" in the settings. lf l turn this on, will the motor supply power to the battery when slowing down? l think it's a feature that isn't allowed on...

    Replacement E-Bike

Yes l was getting around 700 miles from a chain before it reached the 0.5 wear limit on the chain checker. However l've started using only GT-85 on my chain, after every ride. Not only does the cassette/jockey wheels etc look pristine (no black gunge) but l am now getting well over 1,000 miles...

    Replacement E-Bike

l've got the Shimano E8000 system on my ebike, currently on just under 3,300 miles after 13 months But l've never broken a chain on any bike, 13,000 miles on my Mondraker non-electric mountain bike, 3,000 on a Kona Tanuki before that. l don't back off when changing up through the gears on the...

    Replacement E-Bike

l never thought about the added wear to the drive train (over hub drive) l've gone through three chains, two cassettes and a set of jockey wheels in 3,000 miles.

    Replacement E-Bike

lf you liked the Bosch motor, why not buy one of the Cube Ebikes with the Gen 4 Bosch. They start at around £2,000 so a bit dearer than your average hub motor ebike but they are lovely bikes and a step up in quality.

What’s the best news battery option

l thought your KTM Macina 29 was stolen back in 2014 and replaced with a Haibike Or was this a KTM Macina you had before and replaced it with a newer version that then got stolen? Or did you recover the stolen bike?

    Disc brake issues

Can you get dual piston cable brakes? The main issue with my cable operated disc brakes is that they only operate on the outer brake pad so it basically pushes the disc against the inside brake pad. Although it works, it's not an ideal system as the disc gets warped every time you apply the...

    Disc brake issues

l don't think there's any argument about hydraulic disc brakes being the best for bikes. Great modulation and feel, as powerful as you want, unaffected by water and mud, no fiddly pad adjustment needed, easy pad change, cheap to buy.....there's no downsides at all.

l found out today that Mirider are now offering their folding ebike with hydraulic disc brakes, shame l missed out by a month.

Audi Drivers flock to electric scooters

l wonder who actually buys these ridiculous scooters, it's a lot to pay for a toy that you'd probably use half a dozen times to show off to your mates.

This 80mph scooter doesn't look like it weighs a ton and the battery seems to last reasonably well too.

Audi Drivers flock to electric scooters

l guess if derestricted an e-scooter will do whatever speed the motor and battery are capable of. There are ordinary looking e-scooters that will do well over 30 mph and some crazy ones that will do 60mph or more, imagine that on a scooter Look on Youtube some do 80mph

Can anyone compare these two bikes.

The "boost" button on the right handlebar is a button that you press. lt's not a throttle lt will give instant full power from a standstill up to around 4mph whether you turn the pedals or not. Once the bike is moving, you need to start pedalling. lf you continue to hold the "boost" button down...

Can anyone compare these two bikes.

The lack of a torque sensor doesn't seem to be an issue on the Mirider, it rides great. l assume the Mirider is nothing special and is the same as other hub drive folding bikes.
