    BBS motor with Gates belt...

I don't have a HD but the one I do have has a function whereby you can limit the amount of power being delivered so hopefully t'will be fine.

    BBS motor with Gates belt...

Thanks for the replies, I've had a think and have decided to fit a 3 speed Sturmy Archer hub to my existing bike instead, see if that can quell the desire I have for New Stuff. I purchased a new hub already built into a 700c wheel a few months ago but when I came to fit it I realised the axle...

    Mid Drive Pashley Sovereign TSDZ2

Is he still on the Forum, E-Pashley? It's been a while but if he is then I too would like to add my praise for his obvious conversion skills, he's done a luverly job.

    BBS motor with Gates belt...

...has any one done this? I'm hankering after some shiny new metal as a bit of a treat for my upcoming birthday and have spotted a new belt drive bike with hub gears, It looks like the bike uses a concentric bottom bracket to tension the belt and I'm wondering if it would be possible to at least...

    E-bike For a Child

I have only one child, she'll be 22 this year, we purposefully gave her a lot of freedom as a child (as I my self had back in the 80's). She has turned out fine (apart from being a traffic warden) and has been living independently since the age of eighteen, never been in serious trouble nor...

Wisper Rear Brake Improvement - Suggestions Please

From the picture it looks like your pads have worn low and allowed the brake arm to contact the mudguard.

Will this display work with bbs02?

My Bafang display has a separate control panel that are hard wired together, I'm guessing the op's problem is due to the wires being pulled free from their soldered connections to the circuit board. I'd take it apart and see if it could be reattached.

Nothing wrong with that Dude, it has loads of life left on it. (That's a joke by the way, sarcasm does count as humour). Here is my worn out rear wheel, purchased new in December 2022. I'm looking for a replacement that is a bit wider than the current 19 m.m.

I don't need to look up the meaning of that word, I ain't that stoopid. I spent 13 years as a self employed mobile mechanic, every Saturday I used to work with my MOT man moving different cars around, funnily enough I was able to do this without either driving off the end of the ramp or skidding...

I'm not recommending any body do anything they don't feel comfortable with. And I'm not saying rim brakes are better than disk brakes, but. If well adjusted and maintained rim brakes will provide enough force to lock up a wheel. If I had disk brakes on the same bike doesn't this mean I just skid...

I've been commuting with my mid drive for around 18 months now and I'm not sure but I think my friends were more impressed when I drove a v8 Lexus. I agree, a mid drive does need a degree of mechanical sympathy to get the most out of it. I disagree that a 750w mid drive won't do well over 30mph...

Help! Mid Hub motor or front wheel motor?

A few things spring to mind. Why have you ruled out rear wheel motors? Do you really need a 1000 watt + motor? 30 mph isn't fun on an old push bike. I would find a local supplier who can advise before you buy. I've not used them but I believe Whoosh have a good reputation...

I guess you could easily achieve the op's desire of 30 mph with a 750w mid drive motor, a little more expensive than hub motors but hey, it's only money. Rim brakes will stop you but they need some adjustment as they wear, also travelling at 30 means they wear fast which results in worn out wheels.

It is interesting how many e bike batteries are NOT locked.

The locks are closer to £6, I find that more reassuring.

Big battery or small battery plus a spare?

1 big (20 ah / 960 wh) battery for me, I usually charge between 30 - 80 % with a full cycle every 8 charges. This means I only charge the battery every 3 days or so rather than every day.

Seeking Advice on Affordable Ebike for 20-Mile Daily Commute (£500-£600 = Budget)

Hi Mate, have you changed your forum user name from 'pinhead'? Also, depending upon your perspective, £600 could be considered a large or even unobtainable amount of cash.

Seeking Advice on Affordable Ebike for 20-Mile Daily Commute (£500-£600 = Budget)

That philosophy pretty much describes how I've lived my life up to yet, also gratitude that I'm physically able to get out of bed in the morning. Anyway, back to these £600 e-bikes. I paid £500 just for a battery. https://custombuilt-ebikes.co.uk/product/48v-rear-rack-ebike-battery-20ah/

Do police even bother to check if an e-bike is legal?

I'm sure the police would check if the bike is involved in an incident.
