( I said he should wait and see what Suntour have to say - I they roll out a fix then it's actually a fair bike for the price tag of £960 )

@mike killay - the battery was replaced on the first bike, the problem persisted with the second battery, the replacement bike has the same problem so technically this is my third battery. However: @cyclebuddy yeah, because of the behaviour I'm inclined to think it's nothing to do with wiring...
