    Help! Wiring of electric hub?

Bob Jones is credited with drawing this helpful diagram that shows basic older e-bike wiring (without a display). What Neal is saying is that "unsensored" means you don't have the "signal wires" shown here, just the "power wires"... but you still need a controller.

    Elecnewbie needs help

It's still live. If you want help, you'll have to give us some clues. I haven't heard - and I doubt many others here - will have heard of the brand. Many Chinese factories churn out "fodder" e-bikes in high quantity, which several entrepreneurial types will brand with a name of their choosing...

Thinking of buying a second folding ebike ?

I don't think Litepro are pretending to be anything other than Chinese. They make a range of bikes and accessories, of which this Brompton "copy" is just one: It has a couple of changes/improvements (note the wheels don't clash as they do on a Brompton) while being half the price. This guy has...

Thinking of buying a second folding ebike ?

Not that I've ever seen, heard or read. The known issues with Fiido's D11/21 are slipping seat-post and loose wheel spokes - both easy adjustments - and on a batch of 185 (mine included) where battery caps became loose - a warranty claim. If you're inclined towards a Brompton, there's the...

    Carrera crosscity display

This has been asked before. The Crosscity has been around a number of years. So too has the display, now available in IIRC 8 or 9 different versions that all look broadly the same, but the way they each communicate with the controller differs. If your display is broken, your best bet is to...

    Charging whilst travelling in Motorhome

Just to update this thread since things have moved on a little (for anyone coming back here)... I know @matthewslack has since developed a really good mobile solar trailer for his extended cycle tours, and continues to develop that... For my own part, I did say to hell with the cost, and...

Thinking of buying a second folding ebike ?

This is an argument I've had with my Doctor. Like the OP's Gym, my Doctor promotes fitness by encouraging excercise such as walking or cycling... yet my GP has nowhere to safely lock up my bike, so I drive instead. Surely such places should have a secure compound or locker where someone keen to...

    I’m new to ebikes.

@Bonzo Banana For the most part, I don't disagree with you. However, Fiido have demonstrated a measure of honour and integrity that simply doesn't often exist - even with European manufacturers. That's why I bought one. IMHO, Fiido's failing here - as is common with many manufacturers rushing...

    Delimiting / tuning

One rotation of a wheel is one rotation and therefore one pulse to the controller- whatever the wheel size. What you're missing is that the controller is already set for the wheel circumference to determine the distance travelled and also gauge the speed. A common trick on many low-cost e-bikes...

    I’m new to ebikes.

The maximum load on the Fiido X is stated to be 120kg. That wasn't the issue here. It was an early production model: The rider was light, the bike had done no more than 50km, and it snapped in two riding smooth paving. I had a brief exchange with the guy whose bike it was after he'd posted his...

Stow-E-Way Folding Electric Bike - Battery Cover Help!

It'll likely be fine in moderate rain, but if you're worried put a plastic bag over it. Keep the battery indoors (and the bike too if possible) where it's warm so any residual moisture dries out after being used in the wet. The fitted covers you sometimes see for e-bike batteries are mostly...

The 350w version does 20mph straight out of the box (it's intended for the US market where 20 is legal). The unlock on the UK version is a combo of brake squeezes and button presses. Fiido will tell you if you ask. How fast do you want a 20" Wheeled bike to go? 20 is fast enough on my D11!

    Ebco Mh-5

Your options are limited unless you can find a sympathetic dealer supporting TranzX drive systems. Very few are left since Ebco changed to other brands. Even so, as the controller board isn't AFAIK available separately, you'd likely be faced with replacing the whole motor. That's costly on a...

    Ebco Mh-5

The bike dates from 2017, and was sold by Halfords among other retailers. The mini USB socket on the handlebar display is for a dealer to connect PC based diagnostics software to fault find. If that's where you're plugging your USB Powerbank into to make the bike work it sounds to me as if the...

    Help! Help & Suggestions Please

Crudely it's 15Ah / 2A charge rate = 7.5 hrs + 0.5 - 1 hr top-off & balance = 8 to 8.5 hrs. The mistake may instead be that they supply a 3A charger with the larger 15Ah battery as some makers do... That would take about 6hrs.

    Help! Help & Suggestions Please

IMHO the 6 hours charge time relates to the smaller 10Ah battery option not the OP's 15Ah.

    Help! Help & Suggestions Please

I'd say that looks quite a good choice given what you've said you're going to need: A beefy 65nm motor, big 15Ah battery, throttle, foldable low-step, sprung saddle and forks, lights too. Stated charge time is suspect though... a 2A charger is going to take more like 8 or 9 hours for a full...

    I’m new to ebikes.

Even though the Fiido X frame passed testing to all EU standards, the recall was about strengthening the frame further so that it's now twice as strong as European standards require. Both Fiido D21 and X are torque sensor bikes, the X (according to one member here) having a higher quality...

With 300w solar in French sun, 200Ah storage and a decent inverter, you're probably just as well using the supplied 240v charger. Yes there are conversion losses, but there are losses too with the 12v buck converter types too. The reason they're less of a draw is simply because they're lower...

    Help! Help & Suggestions Please

No that's not fantastic at all, because the weight of a lead-acid battery on a trailer will be crippling unnecessary weight. For that purpose, @matthewslack has a good solution (the best I've seen)... or carry a spare bike battery which is (most often) lighter, more powerful and smaller. A...
