    Bike for heavy user

The Powerfly 5 would be fine for riding you plan to do ie exploring forest tracks and forest roads. For MTB park riding you would want to go up a level or two in spec. One thing to try is bike with dropper seat, you will need to do an hour or 2 of riding to get hang of it. They were designed...

    Purchased a 2018 Cube Reaction Race 500

Try alternating chainring sizes eg 15-18 every time you replace chains should spread wear between few gears. I find on road that I ride at 22-27km/h spending most of my time between 2 gears. Long term Rohloff hub would be ideal but for price you can buy a lot of cassettes and chains.

    Purchased a 2018 Cube Reaction Race 500

Also try dropping tyre pressure, 30psi good place to start. You have motor so rolling resistance isn't an issue and range doesn't seem to be for most of your rides.

    Bike for heavy user

I've just bought powerfly 7, nice bike which I got at good price, but those UK prices are very steep. Unfortunately Cubes are limited to 115kg as they are normally excellent value. Before looking further test ride a few bikes, will give you some idea of what you like or dislike.

    Bike for heavy user

Specialized Levo family are rated for 136kg, Trek 136kg, Cube 115kg. As others have stated the bikes are designed to can carry these weights with hard riding over most extreme terrain, another 10-20kg shouldn't be problem for gentle forest trail riding.

    Bike for heavy user

Sounds like you need eMTB. Most use torque sensing middrive motor compared to cadence sensing hub on Bear. You need to test ride a few bikes to understand difference.

    Disc Brakes

Don't store them fully charged. 60-80% is ideal. Best to fully charge and take for 30minute ride to bring them back to 60-80%.

    Disc Brakes and In-hub Gears

Don't overlook the Magura HSxx rim brakes , they are very good, definitely match for 160mm discs. Maintenance is lower than discs, I'm regularly sortout sticky pistons on disc brakes.

    Riese+Muller Delite 2018 Nuvinci Review

The Delite is perfect long distance tourer and car replacement. It's the only FS ebike tourer that I know of. Dual batteries and 25kg rack which benefits from suspension is unique. After riding FS and Hardtail eMTB on rougher roads there is no comparsion in ride quality. Quality suspension...

    Trek Powerfly 7 2018 hardtail

My better half has been kind enough to give me OK to buy another ebike. I was originally looking at 700c wheel trekking bikes for touring and commuting before settling on hardtail. Was going be Powerfly 5 but they didn't have my size, what a bugger having to upgrade, just have to make do with...

    Which 11 Speed Chain?

7000kms, all changed at 0.75mark along with chainring. Would be interesting to try Shimano chain for mileage which are bit cheaper, but don't want to risk a broken chain.

    Which 11 Speed Chain?

My bike came with KMC e11 and I'm onto 5th chain. No breakages which is saying something as CX motor can very hard on chains.

Want to join the fun but need help

My wife switched from 28" step through to 26" Reptila. The frame worked out to be lot better fit for her, smaller wheels make for shorter wheel base, tighter turning circle. Handlebars are lower along with rack, low centre of gravity helps with handling. With 28" she kind of sat in bike instead...

    Brose motor

Reviews on new Brose motor in Levos is excellent, power delivery is meant to be as good as or better than CX and Shimano. CX is still excellent motor and extra drag after 25kmh cutoff is never really an issue MTBing. You are either climbing under power or freewheeling downhill. Any pedalling...

    Switched to Haibike SduroTrekking

Being able to swap batteries is big plus, one reasons for wife's new ebike. Your range is limited by combined capacity not single battery. I typically use 1/3 less than her.
