    Chain slip

+1 for KMC chains. Especially the ones with the EcoProteQ rust protection coating. What speed is your cassette Johnny?

    Chain slip

Single chainring, largest cog on cassette. Note that the chain still has a small bend in it, otherwise you may have problems selecting the large cog. All works great, no chain slip and no derailment issues.

    Chain slip

On my single chainring and largest cog on the cassette, the chain is almost straight through the derailleur arm. The two small pulleys are still firmly contacting the chain though, with a little play, so the arm can still do its job. A picture paints a thousand words, so I'll post a piccy...

    Chain slip

Might be worth taking a link or two out of the chain to get better tension. Failing that, then a new cassette, as it's usually a good idea to replace the two together.

Totally agree. Without testing the bike, I would hope that it would be low maintenance, cope with at least 20 miles of not too hilly road and prove to be reliable. That would be my own personal criteria for commuting to my work.

On a positive note, the bike is light at 16kg. Also, 2 years warranty on frame, battery and electronics. I stand my ground that this would make a great commuter. Psst..... Nick, if you'd like to donate me a bike for all the free publicity I'm giving you, then don't hesitate to PM me. I'll...

The blurb states 36 volts and 200 watt hours, so If I've done my calculation correctly, it should be a 5.5 amp hour capacity battery. I agree that total capacity is more useful than just watt hours and voltage.

On a serious note, if I were after a good looking, hassle free commuter, then the Gtech would be on my wish list.

Self sealing inner tube saves the day :)

No, because I think when the tyre is rotated so the valve is at the top, then some slime falls into the valve stem. With the valve at the bottom, the slime falls away from the stem. I've no scientific proof, but it works for me doing it this way :)

Self sealing inner tube saves the day :)

Most of my riding is on woodland trails, so I inflate the tyres for grip rather than rolling resistance. There's no squidgy feeling, although I could imagine they would feel like this if ridden totally on hard surfaces.

Mine's got a lot of torque, so I don't notice any drag.

This one: http://www.halfords.com/cycling/bike-parts/inner-tubes/slime-schrader-bike-inner-tube-20-26 There's some negative reviews about the sealant coming out of the valve when letting out air, but If you position the valve directly at 6 o'clock, this doesn't happen. Not for me anyway!
