    New Name for Forum

You'd be surprised. Plenty of people have modded perfectly legal set-ups to get the speed or power they yearn for. There are peeps on here who would never dream of riding an illegal bike, but still share their knowledge of making bikes go faster with the naughty members too.

Hailong 48V 12Ah Lithium Ion Frame Battery 30Q Samsung Cells

I probably would if my current pack was at the end of it's cycle-life, but it's only a year old, and it would be a shame to lose cells that have bags of life left in them. I'll drop him a line and see if he can offer a ready made dolphin pack with the 30Q's. Be handy to have a 30Q pack and keep...

Hailong 48V 12Ah Lithium Ion Frame Battery 30Q Samsung Cells

Thanks for the info tommie. He'll probably confirm that there will be the usual sparking caused by the connection of a live battery and controller. I'm kinda hoping someone on this forum is using one of these, and can give me a first hand account of any terminal arcing damage.

Hailong 48V 12Ah Lithium Ion Frame Battery 30Q Samsung Cells

Considering swapping my current dolphin style frame pack, for one of these: http://eclipsebikes.com/hailong-12ah-lithium-frame-battery-samsung-cells-p-1121.html The main reason is that I want a UK supplier, and a pack with the Samsung 30Q cells. Shame Eclipse don't do the dolphin pack with 30Q...

Which Samsung 18650 is the newest out of these two?

Dave, would I be right in believing that with a 13S 4P configuration, a 30Q pack can deliver 60A continuous? There's some more specs here: http://www.nkon.nl/sk/k/30q.pdf I do like the way Samsung safety test their batteries. Gives some peace of mind when purchasing a pack :) Page 16 of the...

Which Samsung 18650 is the newest out of these two?

What I've got now is a 48v 11.6Ah pack with Samsung 29E cells. The voltage sag is fairly noticeable for the last few Ah's, as I believe these cells are only really comfortable at 1C constant discharge. Would a pack with the 30Q or 32E cells, yield less sag at the same point as the 29E cells?

Which Samsung 18650 is the newest out of these two?

Does anyone know which one of these Samsung 18650's is the newest out of the two? Samsung 30Q http://www.illumn.com/18650-samsung-3000mah-inr18650-30q-high-discharge-flat-top.html or Samsung 32E http://lygte-info.dk/review/batteries2012/Samsung%20INR18650-32E%203200mAh%20%28Cyan%29%20UK.html

    Reprogramming the BBS02

If you have one of the proper programming cables like this one: https://www.empoweredcycles.com/collections/8fun-bafang-bbs02-accessories/products/usb-programming-cable-8fun-bbs02-mid-drive-motor and not some homemade effort, then I can only think that you haven't aligned the arrows on the two...

Which is the better choice for off road?

Having ridden hub motor and crank drive bikes off road, I would 100% go with a Bafang BBSxx. I was always breaking spokes on the hub motor, and there was the worry that the drop-out could break if the rear wheel was hit hard under power. I can ride my current BBS02, knowing that the original...

DPC-14 Display-for BBS any one got one yet?

On a serious note, I'm quite liking the voltage display and the fact you can disconnect the mode switch from the display. Makes replacing the switch much easier if it gets damaged. Oh, and the automatic backlight display.... Mmmmmmmmm Damn you culy30 for bringing this to my attention... In a...

    Bit of a close call.

You've been lucky there mate. Ever since some huge pterodactyl beast nearly took out an eye last Summer, I always wear a pair of cycling glasses when out and about. Like when I first started wearing a helmet, it felt weird, but I soon got used to it. Won't ride without a helmet or glasses...

Torque or shock to free rusty nuts and bolts?

Obviously, after squirting a boat load of penetrating fluid on a rusty nut or bolt, what is the best way of freeing said item with minimal chance of snapping it? Applying constant torque until it frees up, or attaching a spanner and hammering with small taps to shock it free?

    Bafang BBS01 Programming Cable

Keep an eye on this thread on Endless Sphere too: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=79602 I think the guy in the second post is trying to say that the PAS works like a simple switch, and varying cadence doesn't affect how the system works.

    Bafang BBS01 Programming Cable

In case you haven't seen it yet, I thought I'd point you to this thread: http://pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/advice-on-bbsxx-hill-climbing-from-the-horses-mouth.23713/ It primarily references the BBS02, but would equally apply to the BBS01 too.

    Battery calculation

High precision to Chinese standards :D The Cycle Analyst is an awesome bit of kit. More suited to hardcore modders, than the casual cyclist though, due to the cost.
