She is a disaster. But what other choice did those MPs have? Personally I would have voted against her but I'm really not clear what good it would have done.

    Brexit, for once some facts.

My post was not 'intended to disrupt the debate' - it was intended to point out to you that you chastise people for doing something you do yourself. Personally I see nothing wrong with going 'off-topic' a bit. It adds flavour and spice and makes a thread more interesting. But if you're...

In your opinion. Here's what actually happened: Old Groaner confronted somebody for being 'off-topic'. Later I noticed that he himself sent in a post that has nothing to do with Brexit. I pointed this out to him.

Wow. You really are incredibly defensive. You could just admit you were indeed not talking about Brexit at that point. Never mind. Let's move on.

But he's right. We don't know. You think you know - but you don't. You cling to your 'knowing' because of your fear of the unknown - one could even say the unknowable. As does the rest of the population. They would rather believe in a fantasy - a prediction - a theory - anything at all -...

Old Groaner...... you quite often chastise people for being 'off-topic' - and yet here you are yourself 'off-topic' (the subject of this thread is after all not the character of Mr (I assume) Fingers. Just sayin'

Seriously? Why is Wales and NI and Scotland poorer than London? If you're not aware of the history of this country then I'm not sure I can help you. Study the history. Look at how London developed to become the city it is.

    It was the referendum result.

Clutching at straws me thinks. London is a massive financial draw - a massive city in a small country. Nothing sinister about that - just the luck of geography and history.

Right - about 150 were on the payroll one way or another (ie they worked for the government) - so of those left nearly 3/4 voted against her. She is further weakened.

So May limps on. And I won about £5. Things could be worse. But not by much.

Of course. As if you would think any differently!

Well I know for a fact that is not so for N. Ireland (who have a massive subsidy from the rest of the UK) - and I've a pretty good idea its also not so of some of the poorer areas up north either. As it should be too in my opinion I might add.

I did? OK. If you say so. You seem pretty good yourself when it comes to telling stories. If I may be so bold as to suggest.

I think you'll find that overall the cash flow is from the south to the north. Like it is from the UK mainland to N. Ireland for example. We have more money down here because there are more higher paying jobs. Which generates more cash in taxes etc. Which gives us more money to spend. I...

Sounds like there's a longer story in there somewhere. Betting never got to be an addiction for me - I reserved that for sex and drugs. :-) I never bet more than £100. And even then rarely.

Apologies. I stand corrected. I moved out of London to these wonderful hills a couple of years back. The litter was getting to me. Around where I live which was supposed to be a nice place - the litter was just getting more and more on my nerves to the point where I just could not stand it...
