MTB or Hybrid with full throttle, up to £1500 ish, for short commute

the £599 volt uno might meet your spec but why a grand plus? Well better components and smother ride. A more expensive bike that runs easier and lasts longer? Or am I casting nasturtiums on woosh and the like?

Hi Joseph Welcome. As you put your name up I assume it's all legitimate. As a new bike I recomend returning to the dealer who sold the bike in the first place. They should be able to get a replacement charger quickly. Or even have one in stock? This would continue the warrantee as using a...

    I've been STOLEN, AGAIN!! :(

Ignoring the popularity fight. Options are. 1 make it theif proof. Lockable top box is my first thought. 2 make it invisible. Hidden frame batteries? 3 make it scarey X loud alarm 4 catch them. Track the bike, valuable bit. Fit a hidden tracking device. When nicked lead the police to the rather...

It's risky for the campervan batteries. Mini gen, running the engine and hookup all spring to mind.

It was quick. And he has not test ridden anything else. Stick to it and he should be happy. Try some others out and the doubts may creep in.

Hub gears are more reliable and maintance free. Disk brakes ditto. Rim can be rubbish in the wet. Ride the bike without power as well. If it's hard work with the power off the motor has to work against that too. 20 miles is easy once or twice. But continusley you need comfort too. Look for a...

Just ordered a 750w BBS02, my first electric bike !

One thing is the 750watt nominal motor may draw a lot more! Possibly 2kw at max this will realy eat into your range and may cause voltage sag too. If 250 watt ones can pull over 800 watts peak.

First electric bike, few to compare up to £2000

Time to visit a dealer and do some riding. Just remember to test ride without power as well. You have too many options and will get multiple recomendations. All of them good bikes for your budget.

First electric bike, few to compare up to £2000

Justin . Any bike would do with your light weight but. Do you want a mountain bike or road bike? Are you always going to want to pedal? Is 15mph good enough for you? Do you prefer the bionic legs of a torque sensor or a throttle control? Would you value a geared hub or prefer derailiers? Any...

Lots of people seem to think 250 watts is low power. It's enought to cruse at 20 mph on the flat. With power from the cyclist as well it can give you lots of go. As cyclists we are fast down hill. Good on the flat and slower uphill. On a legal bike we still leave most lycra clad cyclists for...
