The brake cut outs won't be there on a replacement brake so won't work. Hub/kits are not my thing, but I believe many users don't see the absence of a cut out as a problem. Bosch bikes don't have cut outs, and they are fully legal as you probably know. I think there was a post on here a few...

Unbelievably bad experience with a Haibike SDURO Trekking S RX

I think it was established earlier in the thread the Magura brake light activation brake is not generally available for retail sale. While I agree the OP's blustering approach did him no favours, there were some circumstances outside his control which conspired against him. Top and bottom of...

    HANDLEBAR EXTENDER

Good move, as I say it was unlikely to cause you any bother as it was, but it's daft to take the chance unless you absolutely have to.

    HANDLEBAR EXTENDER

The adjustable stems - last two pics - do the job, but they have a safe operating angle. In the last pic, you can see a white mark which shouldn't be pointing outside the 0-60 number range. The stem is probably outside that zone in the pic with it fitted to the bike. Does this matter? Almost...

    HANDLEBAR EXTENDER

Risers are widely available from the stock of UK suppliers. My local bike shop always keeps a couple in. Might cost a pound or two more.

    Nicolai ION-EBOXX BIKES

Prices are a bit confusing on the website, although the bikes look to be about 5,000 to 6,000 euro which I suppose is roughly Haibike money. http://www.nicolai-bicycles.com/shop/eboxx/ion-eboxx-bikes.html?___store=en&___from_store=de

Is the motor on the front or back? If it's the back, you could leave that brake - which does very little braking on a bicycle - and only upgrade the front to hydraulic. Presumably, there's no clearance problem there. Look for a Shimano brake, even the basic ones are excellent and about a...

    Sexist or realist?

Something similar happened to me on a mini-tour with a mate as we approached York. On that occasion, the roadie's pump wouldn't work. No thanks after he borrowed mine. Roadies can be self-absorbed and very snotty with other types of cyclists. To give this one the benefit of the doubt, it may...

    Sexist or realist?

The vid provides an answer to the age-old cycling question: How many cyclists does it take to fix a puncture? Looks like four in this case, but I expect my cycling group has exceeded that on occasion.

    carrera crossfire no assist

Or you could spend £500 on a Chinese bike and get one that's totally reliable. You could spend £2 on a Lotto ticket and win millions. In terms of probability, there's probably not much in it. Edit: Speaking of niggly faults, the software seems to be producing random quoted posts in this thread.

    carrera crossfire no assist

tell you the truth it gets you down after a while and wondering where to go from here. Many Chinese ebikes around £1,000 suffer from niggly electrical faults. In terms of what you do next, the first thing you need to do is accept the above, so there's no point in buying another £1,000 ebike...

    Stupid Question..

The clutch is there to control the chain on rough bits and to help prevent chainsuck - when the chain wraps too far around the front sprocket. It can be engaged all the time, but the switch is there to make it easier to shove the derailer forward to make dismounting the chain and removing the...

Should I get the Winora Radius Plain- 2016?????

I can only use my AVE MH7 as a guide, but there's loads of seat post adjustment on it, so there probably will be on the Winora. Perhaps you've tried a 20" balloon tyred bike, but the comfort is pretty good particularly if you make the most of the suspension air chamber by running at the lower...

    Winora Radius Plain

I'm about 5ft 11". My AVE fits fine. The Winora should fit you OK, plenty of saddle height adjustment so that's bound to be suitable. A very tall rider might find the handlebars a bit low, but that's not you.

    Winora Radius Plain

The Winora will be easier to handle and be nippier in traffic than a big wheel bike. What it isn't is any lighter than a big wheel bike. Not a problem when you are up and running, but it will need a firmer hand at rest and for any (wo)manhandling of the bike you need to do.

    Is this the future?

Storck - remember them? - sold their rear hub ebike with similar spiel. Or rather they didn't sell it because they no longer offer ebikes, at least in the UK.

    Winora Radius Plain

My AVE is similar, 20" balloon tyres and crank drive. It hasn't quite got the comfort of a big wheel bike, but I've done plenty of 50+ mile rides on it. The smaller tyres make it handier in traffic, and also transmit more torque due to the smaller circumference. The Winora only has three...

    Yamaha 500w battery 2017

    Yamaha 500w battery 2017

That was a gay discrimination case, The bakery owners were found to have demonstrated hostility to a particular group - gays - based on their membership of that group. Not at all analagous to Martin who is choosing to offer accessories only to people who have previously bought a bicycle from...

    Yamaha 500w battery 2017

As I said, he sold me my battery - at a small discount - as a first time customer. No business is obliged to deal with anyone. To use the quaint legal phrase, an offer of something for sale is an 'invitation to treat'. Strictly speaking, when you buy anything you make an offer to the seller...
