Fitting bigger capacity battery to a Swytch gen2 kit

Don't waste time with connectors. You don't need them because the battery is removeable using its own connection system. It's quicker, less work, cheaper, more reliable and more efficient (contact resistance) to solder the wires to each other. Chocolate box connectors might be OK for a 1 amp...

Fitting bigger capacity battery to a Swytch gen2 kit

A good result; however, you shouldn't use chocolate box connectors anywhere on an ebike, least of all on any wires carrying 36v, and even worse on anything carrying high current. It'll be fine at first, so you trust it, but bare copper oxidises continuously in air until there's a compromised...

Replace headlight cable on a Wisper Tailwind

What about solder the two broken ends together? What about buying a rechargeable light, which will be 100 times better than that crappy one and will be a lot cheaper than a new bike? We could give much more specific advice if you would show us exactly what the problem is.

    Pendleton Somerby e bike fault

You can get a clue to whether it's the battery or something else by watching the panel on the handlebars. If you see the indicator lights going down before the motor cuts and the panel switches off, it's probably a battery problem. If the panel stays switched on and/or the indicator lights don't...

Lishui Controller Modification - Firmware Flash Project

I was thinking that a devious person might do a Volkswagon on it, and make it so that it behaves one way (15mph) when tested and another way in normal use, like they did with their emissions testing? Something like the speed being limited for the first 10 seconds of demanding power on any level...

    apollo transporter speed limit

If you show us a picture of the battery, I can confirm. I think it’s thesame as one of my little folders, in which case the 36v version slots straight in and costs about £130. I didn't test whether it works directly with your present controller. They normally do, but if it blows, you can get a...

    apollo transporter speed limit

The white wire in the motor cable is a standard feature, and it carries the signal from the speed sensor if your motor has one. Generally, if you bike doesn't have an LCD with speed shown, there is no speed sensor in the motor, so the white wire does nothing.

    For Sale Bargains

I'm not sure if I understand you correctly, but in case you don't know, the police issued a bulletin sheet, which was a sort of flow chart of what they should check for. It had a decision point for independent throttle or not, then the independent throttle line branched into pre 2016 or not. You...

    Police Check

That's right. The key phrase is "Reasonable grounds for suspicion of committing an offence". There have been various test cases that determined suspicious behaviour and non-co-operation is not enough. They has be some sort of evidence of an offence being committed. If you were observed going up...

    wrong pas sensor

All sensors work with all controllers. 12 magnet ones have the complication that some of them are handed, so, for them, you have to install them on the correct side of the bike. If you order a 12 magnet one, you have to check whether it's handed and which side of the bike it goes before...

It depends on what you call a pavement. There are plenty of places you can ride a bike that are not on the road. AI view: AI Overview No, riding on a cycle path does not constitute riding on the road for the purposes of the Road Traffic Act. While cycle tracks are often located alongside...

Roadrat Alfine 8 with G370 hub build.

Whether anybody likes mid-drives has no bearing on the issue. The problem is that hub gears have to be unloaded to shift. That's no problem with any hub-motor because the motor will generally still give power when there's no significant load on the chain to keep you going when shifting. A...

    Police Check

Anybody can stop and ask you questions. The question is whether you have to answer or co-operate in any way. We've established that you have to co-operate when they stop you on the road, but even then, I'm not sure what they can do if there's no grounds for suspicion of a crime. This is what AI...
