Interesting. The displayed speed on the LCD4 is correct however, so you would think the LCD4 firmware would use the same speed sensing routines to set the 6KM/h throttle with no PAS limit.

Maybe its a temperature sensor for the battery ? For the fast charging the Bosch chargers can use, 1C, you would think a temperature senor on the battery to be essential. It would also make sense if the tool the battery was connected to could use the temperature sensor as a safety power cut...

You can get a kit that is the battery holder, PCB, and internals for building your own. Thats £40 though.

And no-doubt a ready second hand market. Got an old Bosch powertool battery ? So buy an adapter and sell the set for eBike use on eBay.
