And that way I imagine, the new EU laws will be defeated if ever throttles become outlawed.

Is enough being done to bring new consumers to e-bikes?

Yes Indalo, I can see that lightness would have advantages, but would it be strong enough for me? Lots of things, bikes, garden chairs, step ladders have a limit of 100 Kg at most.

They are black, but don't ask me where I got them from, I see that at present, all offerings are chrome.

Is enough being done to bring new consumers to e-bikes?

I don't understand why weight is an issue. My bike weighs about 30 kilos now,I have no problem with that. It climbs all the steep hills around where I live. As I weigh 105 kilos, reducing the weight of my bike to 15 kilos if at all possible would not make any particular difference, OK, it would...

Further progress on removal of power limits

I am convinced that for cycling to become more popular, electrification is the answer. I live in a very hilly place and the only cyclists are either lycras or youngsters on BMX's. Swansea University is on the flat by the beach, so quite a few students have commuter bikes, but Swansea...

    Ezee bar swap

I had to get a longer front brake cable, all the others fitted. You can easily check before purchase, just remove all the electriccal connections from the existing handlebar and hold them approximately where they will be with a new bar. (It was the electrical ones that bothered me as I didn't...

    Any ideas how come?

So tempting, takes me back 53 years. I reckon I could still dismantle one of those blind folded! (I mean the cyclemaster!)

    Any ideas how come?

Living in Swansea which hardly has any flat bits, even as a youngster it was purgatory to cycle anywhere. The old three speed Raleighs and Triumphs that we had were too heavy and too high geared to pedal up many of the hills. So, when I was sixteen, I got a Cyclemaster. I always thought that it...

    Any ideas how come?

I agree with what is written above in various posts. Britons in general see cycling as a sport or hobby, not transport. To them, cycling is the same as going to the gym and they cannot understand why anyone would want electric assistance. Those who do ask me, generally OAP's, are woefully...

    Pity the colour blind!

Although many don't like Rumsfeld, what he said is important. So many know-alls are quite unaware of it.

How many Pedelecs in your locality ?

I have seen a few about my area, mainly on the Swansea Bay cycletrack which is always full of bikes. (people bring them there by car to have a ride) Once saw a bighit parked in Oystermouth, but in total there are no more than about 10 about locally. Staying at a Belgian campsite last year, a...

How exactly do 3 speed throttle switches work?

The throttle on my electric outboard has click stops, five forward and three backwards. Just thought I would add that!

    Issues with Salisbury...

Looks as if the bearings rusted rather than failed through wear etc. Probably there was little grease in there to start and water got in. Try replacing with the one the dealer is offering, new bearings and plenty of grease. Me, being tight fisted would try cleaning the old spindle up, if the...
