Isn't that how the motor is rated on the label, 250w or 350w, and what I've read on here? That's how I've seen bbs01b discussed in various threads re changing the ah setting. I have also read that peak power is over the rated power, as you say above.

I wasn't changing motors, only settings, 15ah /18ah 250w /350w. The rating label is only relevant if you are caught riding outside the grounds of your mansion by an officer of the law with the wit to check. I said the same as you, Shirley?

    InKeep Current in

I had no trouble, I uploaded new settings on a per page basis, thought IMMSMR there is a function to change several pages and upload the whole lot at once. If you set the bbs01 to 18ah you are making it a 350w motor, 15ah is 250w.

    Bafang maintenance + controller upgrade.

Bbs01b can be re programmed with cable to have 3,5 or 9 steps in the power gradient, I set mine at 9 to give a finer gradation.

What are the thoughts on resetting the keep current, mine was at 30%, I changed it to 80 or 90. Any problems likely to ensue from going to 100? Apart from battery life.

Oh dear- who's been throwing batteries in the bin?!

Carbon Monoxide - we deal with that all the time. Unless the said batteries are giving it off in a closed inhabited space then that doesn't really create a problem. Far more of an issue currently is Dihydrogen Monoxide, falling out of the sky. How many people and animals a year die, even partial...

Cheap means of disposal, does the insurance company pay out for the lost value of the tyres too? Last summer a huge plume of black smoke was visible from my house, maybe a mile away. Plastic recycling company, bales of compressed plastic waste stored outside the compound next to a public...

    Wiring a brake light.

Job done, used 2 long lever microswitches, one mounted on an aluminium bracket, the other on the front carrier. Wiring all contained in a small zip pouch, connections made with wago type connectors, which come in 2,3 and 5 wire versions. The microswitches need a bit more insulting tape but it's...

    Wiring a brake light.

Wuxing rear / brake light arrived yesterday, ordered 2 long lever microswitches, should be here today. I have racks front and back so hoping to use them to mount the microswitches above the v brake arms.

    Help! New chain needed ?

It's best to count the links rather than checking the length. you could end up with a longer than necessary new chain cos you are adding in the stretch of the old one.

Bafang 250 or 500w for touring

Bbs01b at 36v with more or less default settings. I've pulled 50kg - 2 sacks of hen food, in the trailer for several miles. Loaded panniers up with a weekly shop. Must be comparable with a full set of camping kit. No problems. It's a hybrid tourer, 700c wheels. Would prefer disc brakes but it...

Bafang 250 or 500w for touring

Re the 250w bafang Mid drive, you can up the amps from 15 to 17 using the USB lead and laptop. It's then the same as a 350w but badged "correctly". So you have quite a bit more oomph. I've been dragging a dog trailer about, full of shopping, also loaded panniers, with a 250w. No problem on...

    Wiring a brake light.

Thanks, I'll have a look at, those ideas. The rear see.sense ace has a brake self sensing function. Just looking at making use of the possibilities.
