Finally something we can agree on! Won't be as bad if you keep it off full power though. Maybe you would be better running the light off your bike battery, might shorten the range a little though.

What is a cree x3 whatever it is it's not the same as 11 t6s, what would it have done with 11 x3s?

You really don't have a clue what you are talking about. Look at the specs of the light 9 or 11 3 amp Leds your battery will only run 3.4 amps for one hour that is what 3400mAh means. Or maybe you have invented free Energy!

Phil doesn't have 11 3A lamps on his though! It makes no difference where the cells come from of they are 3400mAh they can not give more than 3.4 amps for one hour.

Maybe you don't understand the units 3400mAh = 3.4Ah = 3.4 amps for 1 hour = 1 dead never to be revived battery. A T6 led can draw 3 amps.

OK 1.13 hours to totally flat per Led then. Don't forget you have 9 or 11 Leds, do you have 9 or 11 batteries?

Just had a quick look on candlepower forum, they reckon less than an hour for a single T6 on an 18650. This light has 9 or 11 10w Leds. Time to do some sums.18650 high power let's say 3000mAh these Leds pull 3A each, that is one flat (actually dead) battery per hour per Led!

Is that the 90 or 110 watt version? Good luck with runtime!

Nearly every rider in local club time trials can average over 20 mph on a 10 mile TT. As you say this is pan flat, a couple of years ago I could average 18 on a mountain bike with fast tyres.

I hope you are converting these to ebike rides, you should not be showing as normal Strava rides. If you feel the need upload as a normal ride, take a screen grab then edit activity to ebike.

    Mid drive

"The hub has 36 holes in it. You can build it as straight or strong as you want. Mine's straight, strong and completely maintenance free. I don't really understand your question." It was more a question of can you get sufficient dish on the drive side in particular and still have the rim centred...

    Mid drive

Does the Xiongda motor fail if you push the bike backwards? Are there any reliability based concerns? Does it take a cassette or freewheel? How is it for building a strong rear wheel that is properly aligned. All questions I have seen directed at rear hub motors.

I've ordered one unfortunately for UK delivery as I will be back there next weekend :(. Will test it then alongside my Hope 4, not expecting a replacement but something complimentary would be great.

    Xiongda Motor?

Get your swing arm fabricated into box sections from flat plate then no need for the heavily loaded weld just in front of the shock mount. You could then carry the side plates on to form the dropouts.

Sirocco CD battery rack sheared off, accident waiting to happen!

OK so now you are telling us that the rack has previously been bent which is a totally different scenario to what you initially told us. Still the point about maintenance holds as I am sure that if the bike was cleaned and checked regularly the cracks where the bracket was welded to the seat...

Sirocco CD battery rack sheared off, accident waiting to happen!

Doesn't have anything to do with the metal shearing but both sides didn't snap at the same time. If the bike had been cleaned and maintained it would have been spotted before it became a problem. Riding 100 miles with a bike that is rattling and has screws coming loose can hardly be described as...

Sirocco CD battery rack sheared off, accident waiting to happen!

Judging by the state of the rest of the bike it has never had any maintenance carried out. One side must have been broken for a long time before the other side gave up having been subject to twice its original loading. If it had been a car it would have failed it's MOT a long time ago.
