Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

That's valuable information, Lark. I was proactive, and ordered my hydraulic brake sensors way before I purchased my kit. I got it from Yose's eBay outlet - since it said it came from China with up to a 30 day delivery But last week I spent a while on Youtube trying to learn the best way to...

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

Thank you, Lark. Today I'm looking at tidying up my cable management. I've managed to remove my 60cm motor cable extension. Since I'm no longer going to fit my hydraulic brake sensors - no need to at the speeds I'll be travelling. I was looking for 1-to-2 cables with connectors for display...

    YosePower Kit

If you don't fancy cutting/soldering the connectors you will need this battery cable: https://yosepower.com/collections/accessories-1/products/cable-between-controller-and-battery-with-jst-plugs The Yose / Linshui branded controller has julet/waterproof connectors - even for the battery...

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

One more update: I have finally been able to test the bike for once. It's been raining non stop all week, but this morning I managed to take it out for a ride - my first ever ride on an e-bike - and it felt magical. A few numbers on a full battery: With the controller set to 18a (briefly for...

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

I got a 36v 20ah battery from Greenlance. I don't think I'll be going any bigger unless I went with a triangle shape battery like those delivery guys, it'd be difficult to fit a larger one on my bike. I was thinking of going with black bin bags with velcro ties in case of sudden rain. That's...

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

Yes. It can only be that. Initially I thought I was among the buyers of a faulty batch of kits. Edit: Hence I contacted Ebay's customer service to find out more information on what the issue actually was. Only after @Peter.Bridge suggested it could be due to the motor rating, did I connect...

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

So you reckon the warning is indeed just due to the 350w rating of the motor? I think your guess makes sense. I can't conceivably think of any other reason why I received that email. The kit was brand new and in working order, much like every Yose power unboxing/review I watched on Youtube. I...

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

Yes. It was the 350w rear hub cassette kit. As for non compliant kits, I see both Ebay and Amazon full of 500w, 1000w and even 1500w motors and kits on sale. So, does that mean everyone who purchases one of these kits gets one of these emails? The thing is, the listing I bought the item from...

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

Unexpected update: I received an alarming and unexpected email from Ebay last night: "Hello X, We take product safety very seriously. We're reaching out to you because an item you purchased may have been recalled or pose a safety hazard. We recommend that you stop using this product. If you...

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

Of all the reading I've done so far, this is the first time I've come across this information, it shows how little I still know hehe. Thank you Saneagle!

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

Another update this morning: Battery now fully charged. I lifted the 'speed cap' from 32km/h to 40km/h With the controller preset to 13A it reached 37km/h. (no load) With the controller set to 17A it reached 37km/h also. (no load) I'm still the later reached the speed faster, but I don't...

    Eleglide experiences

Very informative as always Mr. Saneagle. Unless they are direct drive ones, right? I don't know much about them but I've seen people say they're rubbish if you don't constantly ride at insane speeds. Have you ever tried one?

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

Yes. That's the one I purchased. 20a BMS, Samsung cells, 2 year warranty. That's reassuring, I'm tempted. I was thinking of using the kit for a bit stock, and the once I'm sure everything is running fine, tinker with the controller settings a bit. I'm also surprised. I will check again...

    Eleglide experiences

How big are these Eleglide motors? They seem larger than your typical 250w/350w rated motor. It's the first time I looked at an Eleglide bike since last fall when I was on the* brink of purchasing one but for two reasons: It's an M frame on 26" wheels (I'm tall, now I see they come with 29er or...

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

Back with some more news. I ended up going the easier route with a 36v 20ah battery from Greenlance. Hopefully it serves me well and that means I still have a 48v system in the future to look forward to in a few years' time. I spent most of the week waiting for parts and fitting what I could...

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

Back after a few quick calculations: Given the RPM Yose gave me at 36v on 700c wheels, these would be the RPM of these motors at 48v (30% increase is my math is correct, rounded up or down). 215 = 279 225 = 292 235 = 305

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

Hi gentlemen, first things first Yose replied to my email. (I asked, if possible, to be informed of their 350w rear hub motor's RPM at 36v) They first asked me whether it's a freewheel or cassette and what wheel size. After I replied: cassette, 700c or 28" they responded: " Hi, It's 225±10...

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

Yes. Unless I managed to sell them somehow. :) It is certainly consuming trying to make these decisions. 36v system will work and is easy given I just need the battery. Plenty of people happy with it. 48v system is better, the 33% extra torque alone is very enticing. But I'd also need to get...

Confused and looking for 48v 250w rear hub since Yose won't sell me 250w 36v kit with 15ah battery

One thing I have noticed, if I were to go the 48v route, I'd have to get new cables. KT controllers have male 4-to-1 connectors (I think, based on what I am seeing on topbikekit) And KT 4-to-1 cables have male brake sensor connectors. Yose's are female.

Yes, as a matter of fact I have just got done re-reading all @Cadence's three threads on his Yose motors. For those interested here are the links: https://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/threads/yose-250w-rear-hub-motor-with-lishui-350w-controller.44857/...
