    sods law

I have been bike commuting for years, then ebike commuting It quickly becomes all about reliability The best setup , and the most failsafe is Rear alfine hub gears Front hub with an independant throttle Marathon plus tires Hydraulic disc brakes Honestly , that's it. If the chain breaks the...

    E bike newbie

For your weight and height I would suggest either a crank drive bike (e.g. Bosch) or a strong hub - like on the big bear which is designed with a larger rider in mind Testing as many as possible is the best idea . You'll quickly get a feel for what works for you

Odd fault , any ideas ?

Well this fault occurred on the road so couldn't diagnose. I spent the evening testing all wiring, taking apart and putting all back together All fine now and I cannot replicate the fault I can only surmise it must be a dodgy connection somewhere . Buggered if I can find it though I'm forced...

Odd fault , any ideas ?

I've tested a bit more and it's def connected to load /amps With no load it spins up no worries. Load kills it. Even a small bit of brake kills its (no sensors to cut it) I've used and abused for ages. I don't believe it is any fault of panda bikes. If it does need a new one a discount would...

Odd fault , any ideas ?

I have a no hall panda controller on a bpm hub with a simple led handle bar panel No brakes, no pas The fault is that despite full and new battery the controller switches off after a few yards. Maybe as higher load applied. Only unplugging and plugging battery back in again works . Simply...

    Bat bike

If you are serious then I think you have two immediate realities to deal with 1) you see are going to need modern geared brushless motors and modern brushless controllers. 2) Batteries - well it depends. Yes you can use sla but it will go about 300 yards before running out at 1000w (x2) Even...

    Bat bike

:) You'll need dylithium crystals for that. And dark matter at 1.21 gigawats Like the Orange paint job though

    Anyone ever heard of these?

Never heard of them either. But I look at the non Bosch specs and worry it's a fair bit of money to upgrade in long run. However, I like the look of t he frame. Bit of a GT knockoff perhaps ?! Plus sometimes, for me anyway, getting a bike at price X now is possible. Upgrades as and when...

Price increases, has anyone come across any since Friday?

All Chinese stuff is now more. I buy quite a bit from banggood.com Their prices are simply linked to the cable market. Or seem to be. Their prices are increasing daily on their site and app

    GSM 250w any advice

Mine was one of the very first they shipped. I think greasing and controllers have been improved since then. Mine is the internal controller version However, I'm very happy with the motor . Word of warning. If you remove the 15mph restriction I am convinced it pulls far more than the 18a...

    Brexit, for once some facts.

Isn't that a Chinese curse ? To wish up in someone that they live "in interesting times "?

    Brexit, for once some facts.

So, what level of voter turnout do you A) expect B) be satisfied with (,ie the result whichever way is representative....well, enough) General elections are around 40,% mark and the Scottish one, from memory, got 84% !

    Surprise!

They are everywhere, it's a real hatred of mine. If you listen to the late great Douglas Adams radio show or book Last Chance to See, there is a bit where he visits a huge Chinese city and sees the traffic at a 6 way interchange, including vast numbers of bicycles, with no lights, simply seem...

    Battery Pack

You've wired 2 x 11.1v packs in series to get 22.v (twice) But instead of placing the 2 x 22.2v into series to get 44.4v you have paralleled them (so increased aH but not voltage)

    eBikes with Integral Battery

Just a word of warning against integral batteries. General rule- tend to be on small side ie low range Forced into buying replacement battery from that supplier at , usually, vastly inflated prices
