Did you top it up regularly ? Or simply leave it for two years after topping up If the former you should be ok, prob deteriorated a little but should work. If the latter then perhaps not I'd start by checking with a multimeter that the battery reads 42v (or near enough) when hot off the charger

So is that putting a 48v battery on a 36v Kit and getting the speed increase ? Risk of blowing controller goes up I presume ?

I've bought loads of these 18650 power bars. I put my own harvested 18650 cells in then The quality control on bms inside is horrible. About 15% were faulty in one way or another . Once the tiny copper coil ignited and set the plastic on fire almost immeqdiatly. Had I not taken very swift...

Just a thought but when I blew a FET or two in my controller it made the motor make truly horrible noises. If you have corruson /water in controller this could short something and blow a FET Maybe a new controller will fix the issue. Not expensive to do.

I saw a Chinese eBay as that said something along the lines of - item come with European plug. Converter to UK can be simply purchased from pound shop. For just few pounds. Amused me anyway
