As in ... The wheel still runs dead true and is still exactly concentric with the hub. Can I get away with carefully squeezing them straight by means of a small steel vice with ally jaw liners?

Maybe the e bike flow app thingy will tell me. I'll install it and have a go - if I can get my head round it ...

Indeed they do. But as you may see from my post above, what I need to know is the type number of my motor.

I have a new 2023-model ebike which has a Bosch Performance Line motor rated at 75Nm torque. Seeing as how the maker's bumph doesn't tell me and there seems to be no label on the motor, how can I tell if it's a BDU450CX or a BDU490P?

Thanks folks :) The hub is actually a Shimano Inter-5E and now I've been able to look closer, the Tektro disc is held onto the "spider" with what appear to be countersunk machine screws. Not sure what the correct term is for the type, but instead of having a normal Allan-screw hex socket...

As the OP, permit me to just say that I have now been riding mid-motor ebikes with Nexus hub gears day in day out as my only form of transport for 11 years. They suit both me and the wife, whose 70Nm Yamaha-motor 8-speed Nexus-equipped Batavus shows no sign at all of any wearing-out after three...

:confused: Eh? I'm on about production ebikes which come from major manufacturers, which don't come with normal hub gears - e.g. the 2023 Gazelle Grenoble C5 HMB which has a Bosch motor rated at 75Nm and the Shimano 5-speed ebike hub.

Ermmm ... because that's what I want? Hub gears too. Alas, to me it looks anything but. Plus the fact that the bit about the sticker kills it stone dead AFAIC. Boring old fart I may well be, but that sort of lark is not for me :)

Sorry - been internetless for a while so on ly just seen this. Thanks, but the first two are non-starters 'cos they have derailleur gears and the third's way over budget. Interesting that the Haibike has a sensible-looking carrier but the Cube one's an engineering nonsense!
