    One electric bike towing another?

Wreck - less , not reckless. Whatever... Your problems stemmed from the towed bike being too high at the front and you really needed a drawbar to take the wheel-less front axle at the same height as your towing bike. Such a contraption could be made QD for transfer between bikes of conventional...

    One electric bike towing another?

But if you were Wreckless Alan, that's a good thing, no?

    Canal towpath. hmm!

Last time I used a towpath it was fine on the way out, but on the way back it was littered with anglers. They don't appreciate someone riding a bike over their rods...

Electric Bike wins Climate Change Innovation Competition

Having spent time with apehangers, I can't see me tolerating them on a bicycle. There's no natural rest position, in that you must keep gripping the bars to simply keep your arms up - not very good at all. Otoh, I rather like the frame design - it's fresh and funky and looks good to my eyes...

    Wear a helmet folks

I hadn't worn a helmet (apart from m'bike) for decades (my folks bought me a horrible red plastic monstrosity as a kid, and I did wear it) but recently I've taken to wearing a skaterboi helmet instead of the dorky-looking things that pass for cycling headgear. I made this decision when I...

    My Bike

<pats totally illegal 750W bike fondly> I'll stick with what suits me, thanks. Riche - I like the throttle and on/off switch, where did they come from? Nice job overall, btw.

    Balloon tyres

The photographs of them don't show it as being more than a millimetre or so (at a guess) http://www.schwalbetires.com/files/l_img_bigapple.gif

    Balloon tyres

I like the notion of BAs, but I'm a bit leary of the fairly smooth tread on them. I'd prefer something like a BA but with more tread and (like a BA) kevlar belt. Round here, the back roads are as rough as a hedgehog's bum, so a bit of extra air suspension would be nice.

    Balloon tyres

It's an old Claud Butler mtb, converted. The rear stays narrow considerably at the front, so I reckon I might be restricted to a max of 2.15" width of BA - I doubt the 2.35" would fit. The original tyres were 1.9" Vredestein Monte Carlos. I considered Marathon Plus, but they're not particulary...

    E-cat: Fantastic new energy source.

They've been managing to run fusion reactions at an energy profit for twenty years now - for a few millionths of a second. Recent developments were just another step along the road, but a feasibly working and successful sustaining fusion reactor is still a long way off. I'd buy shares in the...

    Balloon tyres

I've been looking at Schwalbe Big Apple tyres and fancy fitting one on the rear motor wheel, so to give some bump absorption and I see they have a Kevlar belt, so might avoid some punctures (thorns abound when hedge-cutting is going on). I just wonder if the BA is the bees knees of balloon...

    Goop or Slime!!!!!!

The Tesco price per tube is around the same as the Aldi price per tube in a box of two. I've been acquring some recently (well, it seemed rude not too, as they look like good quality) and will fit a couple of them sometime soon. I've not heard any bad things about them so far.

    Brake lever cut off.

I didn't bother fitting the brake cut-outs to my conversion at all. After all, 200Kmiles of riding motorcycles taught me to use a throttle. It's not exactly difficult.
