what sort of route for pleaseure riding

The roads here in Cornwall are a bit narrow for pleasure riding. I also consider them too dangerous for any lengthy trips. With all the 4x4’s flying about it can be a suicidal paradise  I’ve not really used my ebike for pleasure trips, although I keep promising myself I will. My fitness...

    If it's not in stock...

My mate's Boss bought the last six Triumph's (straight off the production line) and they went straight into storage - what a terrible thing to do ;) .

    The things one sees

Tail wind - would be a benefit  Side wind - you could practice bouncing of the hedge or passing cars  Head wind - Stop you dead in your tracks :o .

    If it's not in stock...

Following the purchasing fiasco I had, when I purchased my bike over the Internet and found it had been discontinued (after I had paid for it) I learnt a valuable lesson. Now if I see something that I want I phone or email them first to confirm it’s available to purchase. If the supplier fails...

    Sunny weather

I got out in the sunshine here too. Usual cycle up to Tesco's and back :) Interestingly, I've found if I stay out in the middle of the road (down the hills) I get more speed - less potholes, drains, etc. Topped 29mph in the 30mph limit today. If I get my head down next time I might make the...

It Might Be Legal? But Is It Ethical?

I for one say keep up the technical threads. Yes, they can get a bit involved sometimes and mere mortals such as myself click off bemused and with a headache. But many of the post are of real interest to new ebikers (well I find them interesting). That's one of the best parts of the forum. :D...

    Waterproofing

I have had my ebike for over 6 months now, and recently I took the cover of the wire / controller box (located under the battery - bottome of the frame). Dispite the rubber seal on the inside of the cover, water and grim had found it's way into the box. I have ridden in the rain (sometime...

    where is everyone tonight?

Well looks like Musicbooks got his discussion – all be it one sided. Doesn’t he like living dangerously  Just think one day he will be one too - oh dear :o Perhaps next time Musicbooks should drink his horlicks and go to bed like a good boy and stop annoying the older, wiser and...

Solar power, any tinkerers out there?

I’ve had a solar-powered 12V 1.5W battery trickle charger rigged up in my campervan for the last three months. It’s managed to keep the battery up enough to start the van, which is better then when I didn’t have it last year and the battery went flat :( I've been so impressed with it I just...

    Seen anything strange lately?

Not strange, but I had to jump back onto the pavement yesterday as I was almost run down by the local Community Police Officer on his bicycle (not electric) hurtling by  .

    Electric Push Trailer

Thankyou for that flecc. So, I would need to take care in use (avoid too much power too soon) but in theory it should be ok. Best to use the two wheels (three spokes per wheel) to take the loads - and like you say, good torque, being a small wheel. Would be ideal for these wonderful Cornish...

    more power needed

Your hill is about the same as the one I have to conquer every time I take a trip to Tesco's (none flat Cornwall). I have a 36v, hub drive, look-alike mountain bike and I have to pedal hard all the way. I am nearly always starting to fail as I reach the summit (Edmond Hillary eat your heart out)...

    Electric Push Trailer

Point taken flecc, about the tend to push the trailer and bike to the left. Do you really think the push to the left would be that noticeable? Of course if one were to reduce it all to a single wheel, then you have the worry that a single wheel (12.5" x 1.25 in this case) would be man enough...

    Electric Push Trailer

Seems like someone else has recognised the gap in the market and are using Currie electro-drive to make powered trailers. electro-drive Trailec :.07974 723996.: £499 not cheap - could do it cheaper (under £250) if one did all the work one's self. Is do-it-yourself worth the hassle? ...

    more power needed

May or may not be any use but what about one of these electric bikes? They have Offroad speed switch, (Make it go up to 30mph for offroad use.) Need flash to view page. fun2ride.co.uk - Wellcome to the UK's biggest importer of fun - Electric bike, Quad bike, Petrol scooter, Go kart, Come...

    Derestrict via new controller?

I managed to test the bike today and it was worse that ever, so the blue wire has been reconnected - all back to like it was. Not many flat stretches’s here in sunny Cornwall anyway  , so I’ll leave it as it is - who needs speed anyway :o . The bike manages the hill’s well enough for...

    Derestrict via new controller?

Thanks for the pictures Wizard. I have copied them so you can remove them. I don't have those adjustment pot things in my bike but thanks anyway. Just need the rain to stop so I can go out and play :) .

    Derestrict via new controller?

Even with all the heavy rain I managed to squeeze myself and the bike into the shed, so I could take a geek at the wires. It appears someone has already disconnected the pedelec, as when I took the wires out I found it cut in two. So I can’t disable the pedelec as it’s not even working...

    visibility

I wear a Endura Gridlock Waterproof Jacket that I got from Wiggle. This question was partly covered before under the title Reflectives :) http://www.pedelecs.co.uk/forum/electric-bicycles/1108-reflectives.html . PS: Be careful wearing hi-vis coats around supermarket car parks - I have...

    Derestrict via new controller?

I may have already voided my warranty as I've modified the brakes and the back light wiring - oops  Oh well, never mind. I may take the covers off next week and check out the wires :) .
