Prices of the electricity we use to charge

it's 40.8% - not 4%. Renewables contribute about 40% of our electricity (cheapest), 18% come from nuclear (eye wateringly expensive) and 40% from fossil fuels.

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

blame the journalists. The Shengshin batteries have 4C maximum charging capability, that's about 10 times what can be found on e-bikes. We charge our batteries at 0.2C and up to 0.4C. By depositing the anode maeterials with nanometers precision, CATL managed to reduce swelling when Lithium...

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

the number of cycles exceed 5000 in new generation batteries so using them to reduce the cost of kwh makes sense. It's a shame that progress in new batteries don't spread yet to e-bikes. However, when solid state batteries become mainstream in the next 2-3 years, we'll see them in e-bikes. CATL...

    Carrera Vengeance Conversion

Iirc, the bizango has the chainstays flare out quite close to the bottom bracket. It may cause problems for middle motors.

Woosh starts shipping Tongsheng TSDZ8 with 250W label

Tongsheng does not make hydraulic brake sensors, that's the problem. I will have to buy them in and throw away the sensored levers.

    Converting a little folder

For front wheel option, I have the motor with 75mm dropout but not in 406 rim. You would have to lace the wheel. That's why Andy suggests the DWG2NC kit. 14T to 11T gives about 21% more gear inches. I thought that for folders, the cost of upgrading freewheel to cassette is justified when you...

Woosh starts shipping Tongsheng TSDZ8 with 250W label

I can see your point. I don't like us to be involved with more items to support especially when they are not made by Tongsheng or Bafang. Will ask Andy what he wants to do.

    Big Bear Replacement?

    Did you ask him?

    Big Bear Replacement?

the motor is only slightly weaker, 18A instead of 20A but the grip is better because it's the rear wheel so you get practically the same push.

    Big Bear Replacement?

if it's just the throttle issue, Andy can reprogram the throttle on the Santana3 with the Big Bear code so that it behaves exactly the same way.

    Big Bear Replacement?

No. It has a programmable throttle though.

    Big Bear Replacement?

The Santana3 has a throttle but it needs a bit of pedalling first, about 1-2 seconds to activate it. Afterwards, it's like the Big Bear. I have the ideal replacement for the Big Bear in Southend-On-Sea, but isn't in production yet. It has the 48v ananda crank motor.

Prices of the electricity we use to charge

we have to keep gaz fired power stations to fill in the gaps in electricity supplies until most of us go EVs, then we can use our EVs to replace those generators.
