    Dropbar Road Bike Conversions

Years ago almost all water bottles were mounted like that. They even had plastic straws so you could drink without taking your hands off the bars.

    Kalkhoff speed sensor problems

Right, so the bolt is the same as the old type but has an Allen key recess so it can be fitted with the nut head against the frame? Or there is no nut head at all on this new one? If it's the former I suppose there would be more contact area. But the bolt dia is about the same as the dropout...

    Kalkhoff speed sensor problems

Glad it seems to be working. I find mine has stopped any wheel movement. I didn't need the longer one though, the shorter one would have done. I thought they did all seem to be the same but the descriptions such as they are were different... The P&P wasn't exactly cheap either. I expect someone...

Well it wasn't Rocket Morton. He was busy running on laser beans.

Need a bit of a lift?

Looks like you could do the splits quite easily with that. Like getting on a boat clumsily. It seems to be a steep hill though. He said 10 to 14 degrees so about 24 percent at its steepest. I bet council legal departments here would have fits if one was proposed on their patch. Anyone remember...

Kalkhoff Pro Connect Impulse 10 2015 Review

Thanks for taking the time to post a review. I tried the Pro Connect 9 the other week - they didn't have the 10 unfortunately - and was impressed by the gear change cut out and the increased power over my Impulse 1. I thought it was let down by the low end forks though and I didn't like the...

Irony is lost upon the young. Must be all those horrible emoticons. Still look on the bright side. JC was crucified at 33.

Electric bike, battery assisted or motorised ?

Like to see a bicycle land yacht. No this bike is powered by beans. "What do you run on Rocket Morton? Beans! What kind of beans? Laser beans!" His Captain went to the great gig in the sky a few years ago though.

Yes I know but I'm not an American. How are you liking it here in the old country BTW?

Winter battery care - how to look after battery when not in use for a few months

It was Centigrade. I don't think many people use Fahrenheit any more. I was a bit surprised when he said that. It crossed my mind that he might be looking for excuses on the warranty front at first. But I am an old cynic... I was planning to start bringing the battery into the house when it got...

Electric bike, battery assisted or motorised ?

None of them seem to want to cover e bikes on their standard contents policies. It's probably the curse if the unknown which insurers fear more than anything.

Winter battery care - how to look after battery when not in use for a few months

No I'm not planning to store the battery over winter, and it shuts down and goes to sleep after a week anyway. But apropo of 50 Cycles comment. That came after I'd contacted them about a fault with it, and they did replace it under warranty. So right or wrong it might be the best policy to...

Winter battery care - how to look after battery when not in use for a few months

I think they meant above 15 degrees for storage not use. I expect he's right, but it does go against what all the dealers sites say. So much conflicting info.... This for instance: https://www.e-bikeshop.co.uk/blog/post/how-to-look-after-and-extend-the-life-of-your-bosch-ebike-battery/ I...

Winter battery care - how to look after battery when not in use for a few months

That's different flecc. Most of the dealers tell you to store at room temperature and not leave the battery anywhere where the temperature drops below 15 degrees. Matt Goodes at 50 Cycles even told me that the battery should not be left in an unheated garage in early autumn in case the nighttime...

Winter battery care - how to look after battery when not in use for a few months

I think the usual advice from the dealers is to keep it at about two thirds to three quarters charged to prevent the - probably - slight risk of cell damage from being left a long time fully charged. Keep it indoors at room temperature and charge it up a bit every month or so. You can just ride...

Decisions, decisions, decisions... Sidmouth, Peak hill.

Should see the lanes around here. All the farmers use giant tractors now that fill the whole road from side to side. You can't even get past on foot the things are so big....
