Somehow seems unlikely that many would have predicted difficulties in collecting our own blood as a consequence of brexit: NHS cancels blood donation sessions in Dover around Brexit day Sessions cancelled for two weeks before and six weeks after Brexit day road chaos fears...

And: Yet many were spooked by Brady’s comments to the BBC on Sunday night that the change would not require rewriting the agreement, but that a “codicil” with the new arrangements would suffice. So not part of the agreement...

I suspect they simply did not wish to possibly be seen alienating customers who are fervently in favour of no-deal.

We have had centuries to plan for it. But unless we (the people in power to do so) made the decisions that would result in little-to-no-change, there is every risk of issues.

About the date of that page, I had my first experience of being on an aircraft - a Caravelle, in Berlin (possibly Gatow, but no way of checking now), unfortunately not flying. Had lovely leather seats in the cockpit. Which is about all I can remember.

John Crace: The trouble started when Labour’s Ben Bradshaw enquired how the department’s plans for a no-deal Brexit were coming along. Everything was just great, Hancock snapped. There was no cause for any alarm. The fridges had been bought and the medicines sourced and stockpiled. Yes, he had...

Interesting that two out of the three companies you mention were not signatories. My response was intended to highlight that the letter-writers' use of the term "our customers" indicates a considerably larger number than "our voters" would for any political party. Indeed, quite possibly for all...

We are extremely concerned that our customers will be among the first to experience the realities of a no deal Brexit. There can only be a small percentage of people in the country who are not their customers in some way or another.

I have to agree with the repellent nature of the party. Selective quote of one paragraph: I believe in Tory values, but the party is becoming repellent Matthew d'Ancona The whole point of Conservatism is not to submit to the siren call of teleology: the belief that history has an...

By Jove, I'd like our area to receive this sort of financial support. Rather than the reduced funding I am certain would follow brexit (both less money and higher costs). Wales and Cornwall hardest hit as UK loses out on £11.4bn in EU regional funding after Brexit A 22 per cent rise in...

What a shame. (Don't mention the extra hours many of the rest of the country might have to put in as a result of HoC failings.) It was, of course, TM who CHOSE 29/03/2019. And enshrined it in law. Brexit: MPs facing longer hours to help break deadlock MPs may need to work longer and lose their...

I agree. Perpetrators of election/referendum manipulation should be liable to imprisonment. Perhaps, at the end of their sentences, we should bring back banishment? After all, they have rejected the basis on which the country is supposed to operate. Why should they have any right whatsoever to...

I sincerely hope so. Not sure I agree with everything else - such as the CU & SM being genuine options. If we accept them, let us just remain and have done with it. Some half-arsed CU+SM deal seems crazy. (Though perhaps not as crazy as no-deal.)

The implication of this article is that the 2016 referendum has now officially been tarred as unacceptable. But also, that a second referendum would require urgent legislation that has not yet (so far as we know) had a single word drafted. Why six-figure fines? I'd argue they should be...
