    Halfords are truly shocking!

Just spotted another "Halfords special" for sale. The seller is trade and obviously knows his bikes inside out and back to front.;) Anyone looking for quality service and repair?:) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/223594779139?ul_noapp=true

Best way to repair my steel torque arm

As Jeff suggests, a one piece bracket is always going to be stronger, either drilled/filled or slotted with a pinch bolt. 8 x 40mm flat steel bar should be fine. Make sure the hole/slot is a good snug fit on the axle, any movement back or forth will cause wear. I think your setup prob. worked...

    Powabyke x-6

That's a shame, sounds like the cells have died, prob. from lack of use/charging looking at the condition of the bike. Give us an idea of your expected use/mileage of the bike and we can advise on the size/capacity of the battery you need, assuming you can't beg/borrow one for testing.

    Powabyke x-6

Well the bike and wiring all looks to be in very good condition, much better than the bike I had to work on. Unfortunately, you do have a brushed motor, but not the end of the world. Your main problem is having a battery to test the bike with, do you have a charger with the bike? have you tried...

    Powabyke x-6

X-6 was the first bike I worked on about 5 years ago, still gives me nightmares:eek:, but to be fair, I didn't know the first thing about ebikes and it taught me a lot. As vfr says, the battery is a strange 10S3P arrangment with no BMS, but can easily be replaced with any 36v bottle style pack...

Bafang bbs01 won’t fit mountain bike

Don't worry too much about the lock ring going on, if you can get the thread flush with the outside edge of the nut, you should be ok, with thread lock applied. You will need some longer M6 bolts and washers/spacers to pack out the bracket. Don't do the nut up too tight until you have some...

Bafang bbs01 won’t fit mountain bike

You can also carefully profile, file/grind the gear casing where it touches the chainstay and gain another mm or 2, also as peter.c says, use a thinner bracket. These work well if you don't fancy making one. Then fit just the first nut and locktite it...

Advice needed on 750w bafang bbs02b please

That BB looks to be a standard threaded 68mm one, but prob. best to check if/when you go and look at the bike.

Advice needed on 750w bafang bbs02b please

I build my own packs, so can't personally recommend a seller, but this guy has a good reputation on here for re-celling battery packs. https://ebikebatteries.co.uk/18650-ebike-batteries/52v/ Also at least one person on here has bought a pack from these...

Advice needed on 750w bafang bbs02b please

It's not normally too difficult to identify a suitable BB, google for the spec of any bike you find, you can normally find the info even if it's an older model. The Carrera and Voodoo bikes that Halfrauds sell all have suitable BB I believe, which is why they are popular. More expensive, higher...

How much room do i need for downtube battery please?

Something else to bear in mind, it looks like your bike may have an oversized press fit bottom bracket, in which case you will need to have some adapters machined to fit the BBSHD. This thread on ES may be of help. https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=80319

Help identifying rear hub motor please

The battery in your link is taller than the one you have, so make sure it will fit in your frame OK, it looks a bit tight to me.

Help identifying rear hub motor please

The larger battery will only increase your range, no extra torque.

Looks like your controller is in the base of the battery holder.

    Freego Hawk repair

I've had a couple of Freego batteries given to me as being broken. On opening them up, one had a bad solder joint on the switch and the other had badly corroded terminals inside the switch, so this might be worth investigating. As I asked before, how do you get the bike going again after it has...

    Freego Hawk repair

If the bike runs normally most of the time, the fault is unlikely to be the controller. Check all connectors are tight and clean, esp on the battery. When it cuts out, how do you get it going again?

Figuring out the wiring for a hall sensor

OK, is the old controller still working? If so, you could reconnect it and power it up, then you should be able to find 5v on the hall wiring that way. How easy is the motor to open?
