Six months and 1100 miles and the Sturmy 3 speed is still performing perfectly. I can also say that single speed chains are a lot more durable than 7 speed.

I was never a 'dog person' but my Daughter brought one into the house around 5 years ago, when the Daughter moved out the dog decided to stay with me. I don't think she eats batteries.

The new bike is the one with a belt and Shimano Nexus 7 speed hub. The old bike has a single speed chain with a Sturmy 3 speed hub. If you are really interested in seeing how durable the 3 speed is then don't forget that the bike is listed for sale, I don't have space for two bikes so you could...

Just to update this thread, I went with PSW power in the end as they were only £476.63 for a bbs01b, 46t chain ring, magnet type brake sensors, dpc-18 display, thumb throttle, tools and a 36v 15ah battery with rear rack. It was delivered 7 days after I ordered direct on PSW's website with no...

I was out today on the newly converted bike, sort of a proof of concept come test ride, initial impressions are generally good.

My parcels have arrived from PSW, I've not opened them yet but they seem undamaged. They were delivered to a neighbour due to me being at work but the courier never left a notice, if my neighbour wasn't so honest I wouldn't have a clue they had been delivered.

If only there was some sort of aid available whereby you could use your thumb to proportionally supply the motor with the required voltage.
