Review Tong Sheng TSDZ2 Owner Survey

...By the way, the image is not mine, but one I grabbed off the internet. Hmm, I see their emtb settings are higher than mine which were recommended at 2,4,6,10. I fear my STM dongle is going to break from the constant use. This is one of the things I dislike about firmware, is the endless tests.

    ebike insurance for conversions

You should buy yourself a nice illegal but nighly configurable BBSHD while Bafang are still making them, and a bunch of spares - you know more about the HD than your mate who owns one.

Help! Erratic controller behaviour - is it a programming issue?

Sorry Woosh, I missed the hyperlink. Unfortunately it's all in Chinese... can't see a way of changing it to English, or translating in Firefox. TBH I think you are quite right about it not being straightforward! It's outside my skill set and I don't have the will or time to learn about that...

Help! Erratic controller behaviour - is it a programming issue?

BTW, to upload firmware you will need: 1) a USB dongle. Mine has STM32 chip in it. 2) a 4-pin programming connector on the controller. 3) the program to write the JYT file. It's not all straightforward if you are not OEM.

How to get at motor mounting bolts?

I'm pretty sure that you have to take off the left crank. I remember doing that to take the cover off when I fitted a dongle. You might be able to tighten the nuts from that side as long as the bolts stay still. Try it first, and if they spin, you'll have to remove the other side crank. I know...

Lishui Bluetooth Controller, programming the easy way

Hi @tutur The dongle I got from Woosh 3 years ago worked but I'm afraid I can't remember anything that will help you. I think I found a few (3?) types of software online, when I found one that worked and let me change some settings, I stopped trying to get the others to connect. I didn't spend...

Re-celled battery but no pedal assist

Hi Have you installed one of his hack dingles? If so is true you have charge the battery only through the dongle? Sounds really inconvenient if you do.

Build spec by committee, might that include you?

I'm not going the mid-drive route. Apart from anything else, I may want to use the hub motor on different bikes. I've got about 4. "Technically" 5 if you count the one I'm building for someone else. Are you saying if I can get enough amps into a 250w motor, it would climb hills?

Build spec by committee, might that include you?

...a motor can pull as many amps as it wants and gets you up the hill. you want a motor with a 20a controller and set it to the speed you want and a bafang 750w mid drive will give the same power i have to climb any hill if i remove my dongle both wont be much different bar my bike is a money...

Mid-drive chain and drive train wear measurements

...i wore out parts and motors like that id not even bother with one of these bikes seems from all the posts i have seen over the years means a dongle makes the motors last longer as not putting massive stress on the drive train and motor with no power over the speed limit. i had over 10.000...
