Presumably because they're still somewhat vulnerable to punctures, as compared to tubeless.
Tubeless sound difficult to fit though.
Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the tips guys. I think I might go for the pre slimed inner tubes.
I got this bike on 22nd November, and have only had one puncture - the day after I bought it. Fortunately a slow puncture to the front tyre, so didn't discover it until the next morning. The guy I bought the bike from...
Herein lies the current supply problem:-
Brexit gets routinely blamed for pretty much everything (except a fantastic vaccine rollout), but in this case I reckon it's the above.
As to how long the demand will actually last, difficult to say. But there is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that e...
Out of interest I decided to check my own insurance policy, which under home contents says the following:-
Specified Personal Possessions:
The following exclusions have been added to the 'what is not covered' section:
(j) theft of any pedal cycle unless:
(i) it is in your immediate view and...
I'm glad you were relatively OK, and it just goes to show how careful you have to be all the time, especially in the dark. So often it's not other traffic but things on the road surface which are either a nuisance or, as in your case, a positive menace.
A few weeks ago I went for a night time...
Just been reading this article which is all about somebody who has two bikes half inched from his garage. One is an e bike.
The insurers are paying for the non e bike and the damage to the garage door, but not the e bike, because it is motorised and therefore not covered.
Apologies if I'm...
Yep, I've noticed that even at just above freezing point. The air may be calm when standing still, but as soon as you start cycling there's an increasing windchill factor. So decent thick clothing and gloves are essential. Plus maybe a balaclava to protect your face.
Yes, that's the problem. Round here the main roads were clear, it was just the estate roads and shared pathways that were an issue.
Great suggestion from others about the spiked tyres, but I reckon I'll just leave it until the cold spell is over. Safer that way.
Does anybody attempt it? If so, how do you get on and how can you avoid going over?
A few weeks ago my wheels went from under me while cornering slowly on a frosty patch of smooth ground. Hurt leg slightly, but fortunately nothing worse.
Then a week or so back I tried cycling in the snow -...
I will just add my humble two pennuth here and say that whatever the rights and wrongs of this debate, I am absolutely hooked on using my e bike even with a 15.5 mph assist limit. Compared to an ordinary bike they just ride so effortlessly.
Having only had my e bike since 20th November, I have...
I agree, as stated in my own post earlier.
However, I do take on board the valid point regarding potential restrictions such as compulsory tax/MOT, helmet. Also banned from shared pathways (as distinct from ordinary pavements, which we shouldn't be on anyway).
So if an increased speed...
Yes, agreed. I've signed it. On balance it's a good thing. Probably not many have signed it yet because it's not received much publicity. If it reached 10,000, the government will at least look at it.
Two main observations: First it's very much in accordance with the government's commitment to...
OK, understood. I'd just assumed they were all pretty much the same.

I'm probably being a bit thick, but I'm still not quite with this. So just to confirm - my charger is in two parts. The mains plug, the wire from which leads to a black box, which shows red when it's charging and then green when done (wire 1), plus another section of wire, one end of which plugs...
