Last time I looked, we didn't vote for the Queen, but got David Cameron.

    Greetings from Essex

A change from motorcycles to bicycles isn't something to be ashamed of in my book - for me it's a wee bit going back to my roots. I started on two wheels without an engine Its not about me. Perhaps there is an opportunity on this website to encourage 40 somethings or there abouts. All second...

Artsu, I appear to be being subject to the same invisibility cloak. Apparently it's completely wrong for me to be a newbie at electric bicycles and have an opinion of handless politicians down south that can't even keep their constituents safe from flooding, let alone be pro active to exercise...

    Hello from East Yorkshire

OK, we seem to have become a little lost. I thought the thread was about buying electic bicycles in the UK. I have spent (a lot of ) money, and got (in my opinion) a good bike. It isn't quite the right size, but I got impatient as i thought the January sale price might not last, and I daftly...

Ha, should have added...how much money are you costing the NHS and what are you doing about it?!

    Hello from East Yorkshire

I suppose my posts are based on how much money I can set aside for the project. I am very lucky, I managed to save up £1500. There, I've said it. That also means I've made a big (in my world) investment to riding a bicycle.I am committed to the idea that petrol use is austentacious at best. Hate...

    Hello from East Yorkshire

I am presuming that gents on this thread are in support of using bicycles as transport. I'm extrapolating (think this may be where I'm going wrong) that they would like females to join in to boost their numbers. I'm aware that if you are not of a certain social/economic background it might not...

Well done all the men on this forum for not addressing the point at all.

    Hello from East Yorkshire

Thank you all for your condescending replies - you appear to have missed the point. There are no other females interested in this thread, or your responses. Has it never dawned on you to question why? If the UK wishes to promote cycling, electric or otherwise, perhaps it would be a good idea to...

    Hello from East Yorkshire

I've read a fair bit, and experienced a fair bit along side my reading. What keeps coming up is that there is little representation of electric bicycles in the North, and a condecending attitude towards women trying to take on board the issues of climate change and do something about it by even...

    Newcommer confused by sizes

As I've already posted, if you need to lower the seat significantly because the frame is really too tall, you need to swap out the seat to another one, and will have to spend time to find a substitute. Salesmen need more education - it usually makes for happier customers.

    Newcommer confused by sizes

Still can't see how a recommendation for a 50cm frame is ok for someone 5"8, 30" inside leg.

    Newcommer confused by sizes

It's tricky. Non electric bikes seem to measure different dimensions. As a customer, I thought anouncing that I had an inside leg of whatever would be helpfull to the salesman. (Mostly because I thought the salesman A) knew and B) cared.) I'm ok with the bike (mostly amazed at it's, rather than...

    Hello from East Yorkshire

Sorry, that was knee jerk. It is a good idea (in my humble opinion) to get into electric bikes. (For any of the ladies out there, perhaps a different approach to the male one would be useful) Ride safe Rx

    Hello from East Yorkshire

Me too, however apparently I've had a complete character assasination for being female and having an opinion. Nice.
