    Xiongda two speed whistle

My motor has done about 2500 kilometers, and I've been very pleased with it. Lately, it's developed a whistle. This only happens in the low gear, and only when I apply power. Can anyone guess what the cause might be, and do I have to take action? My guess is that this has to be to do with the...

    Broken wire

I was partway across a muddy field, switched on the power for a bit of help, and ... no power. I got off and had a look, flicked the switch a couple of times, changed the batteries, then I noticed - the negative wire from the controller to the connector that I plug the batteries into, had...

    Germanladen

I'm thinking of buying some stuff from "Germanladen" via Ebay, they're based in Portsmouth, so I avoid long delays, expensive shipping and customs. Has anyone anything good or bad to report about them? Likewise "mateen233", based in Hayes, Middlesex

    How to dismantle this motor

I have a problem with my motor, and I'm pretty sure that it boils down to an intermittent connection on one of the Hall wires. The symptom is that occasionally, it runs very roughly, but when I jiggle/squeeze/wiggle the Hall wires at the point when they enter the motor, it goes back to normal...

    Batteries down in price

I was just on the Hobbyking web site, their hardcase batteries have just dropped in price (curses, I just bought four) and they're offering 5ah 4s batteries for £13.56. Six of those give you 42 volts and 10ah for £81. That's International warehouse (so you'd pay shipping and customs and vat)...

    Pulse jet powered bike

I just love this. Colin Furze is a plumber by trade. He built a pulse jet using just an angle grinder and duct tape. Then he built a bigger pulse jet. Then he attached it to an old bike. He starts it with a leaf blower, ignites it with a blowtorch. Then he rode it at 50 mph. No helmet. Brilliant.

    Getting the wheel apart

Problem in my motor wheel; it will turn one way, but is totally jammed the other way. It's a 250 watt geared hub. I suspect gear damage. But the first problem is, I can't get it apart to have a look inside. If I try to take the cassette off, the only way I can see is by turning it via the two...

    Geocaching ebiker

I'm near Amersham, and I mostly use a folding ebike to go geocaching; the bike goes in the car, I drive to where I'm going to cache, then I spend the day on the bike. It's a Haro folder; originally it had an Alienocean kit, but I've replaced the motor, the controller and the throttle and so now...
