    Sticky Hub

Hi D8veh, Shemozzle, I appreciate the advise, but I think even for me this might be a little too much for me. I dont want to damage the planet cogs. I have just tried the 3 screws again on supporting jig so I can get enough purchase but they arent moving! My plan is to clean everything up as...

Teeth are looking nice and sharp on the cogs, a little dirty but they have cleaned up nicely.. I will give them another go later. I will keep trying to prize the back off, do you think its worth it or should concentrate on getting the 3 screws off the planet plate?

    Sticky Hub

Hi Shemozzle, Firstly, 3 holding screws on the other side are still unfortunately stuck. The mechanic had a good go but was unable to get sufficient grip. A little bit frustrating! As mentioned I was able to get behind the plate and give everything a good clean, it just means I cant access...

    Sticky Hub

Perfect, I think I will have to bite the bullet you say and wheel the bike round to a local mechanic. I am sure they will be able to help. I will also ask about the screws on the rear side of the hub too. I am just trying to put the bits back together so I can wheel it round and now I cant get...

    Sticky Hub

Hi Shemozzle, So close yet so far! I really dont think these screws are going to budge. I will give them one last go, but i think they are seized in. Is there any more I could do without removing the plate? thanks again!

Those screws are not budging! I have tried a near perfect match with the screw heads and they will not budge. Slightly irked! I have sprayed some WD40 on them in a hope they will ease tomorrow. On a positive note, I wired up the motor and the hub is back turning again! Still quite loud but I...

    Sticky Hub

Hi D8veh, thanks for your help. I think you are right! I am going to take both pieces of advice. First I am going to see if I can prize open and fix current brush set up. If that fails I will look at purchasing a full new kit for my bike. Thank you so much for all your help. I will probably...

    Sticky Hub

Hi d8veh, shemozzle, thanks for both replies. I am still weighing up both options. I can get a new wheel/hub for $120 and sent with a work consignment from work, so cost wise its reasonble - however with the brush issue I am now not sure if it will work! My bike at the moment has 250W battery...
