20 mile ride on my Kalkfoff

Who the hell is this Nigel01 ? He's like the Lord Haw Haw of Derby Cycles relentlessly spewing silly propaganda and totally ruining the brand's image. He must be working for a rival manufacturer Intent on ruining Kalkoff

    forum doesn't work on mobile

I have exactly the same problem as cwah with the page display on Android. It was until very recently working perfectly. Maybe this is a result of a Google update to Chrome mobile.

    Waterproof phone case

I have been using a Kyocera Torque phone for a few weeks which claims to be an adventure phone which is tough and water resistant. So far so good and have been quite impressed. An expensive option but worth considering if your phone is coming up for replacement anyway and avoids the need for a...

    QWIC Smart e4 Urban 7

That's very good to here. I am very interested in the QWIC P-RD9s but the dealer/importer in Rye in East Sussex doesn't at the moment have a test machine to ride and the largest battery option (a whopping 735 Wh) is currently unavailable and on back order until October. They look like really...

    Need a good hill climber

Did you look at the P-RD9s from their performance range? I am quite curios about this bike but the brand does not yet seem to have much of a UK presence or many sales outlets. I'm not sure if that bike is an S pedelec Qwic seems to have omitted the motor wattage from their specification page...

    Speed or S Pedelec insurance

I think it will eventually happen the EU will ultimately insist on harmonisation (as per the rest of European road traffic law) and the British Government will eventually comply. Just look at what happened with compulsory daytime running lights on cars, the British Government resisted but...

Advice on carrying 2 bikes on car, please.

As regards your Corsa I think you'll find that all of Vauxhalls OEM racks and towbars are also manufactured by Thule who supply GM Europe and most of the other big European manufacturers. I have a BMW roof rack and cycle carrier which is also made by Thule although branded BMW. The OEM kit can...

    Sheared screw - help please!

Yes I have but I fully accept your point about the risk of either it or the drill breaking. If the sheared bolt was rusted solid or completely jammed due to cross threading then I would certainly have second thoughts about using an easyout. But if that was the case I don't think the Dremel route...

    Sheared screw - help please!

Because the bolt has sheared off flush with the surrounding surface if you attempt the Dremel method I think there's a risk you could damage the surrounding area particularly if your not skilled in that type of work. I would personally invest in a set of easyout extractors and take that route...

Take a look at the linked YouTube video demonstrating the use of an Easyout extractor.

    New Kalkhoff Evo.

Looking at it on a German site it looks like the battery is detachable and clips out of the frame. I cant help but notice the lack of a chain or belt guard, the drive belt runs exposed.

    New Kalkhoff Evo.

The new range of bikes look fantastic and very futuristic compared to the currant ranges more traditional look. I really don't see any practical advantage in integrating the battery into the frame. Presumably the integrated battery cant simply be swapped out with a spare or brought indoors...

    And the kitchen sink

That's a pretty impressive emergency kit maybe you could also add (just for luck) a St Christopher, Rabbits foot and Horseshoe.

    Drink drive

As pointed out above provided the pedelec was a legal one then it would be classified as a bicycle and being drunk in charge of it would come under the remit of the Victorian licensing act of 1872 rather then the Road Traffic act of 1988 which deals with mechanically propelled vehicles and motor...
