Pedal Cadence Vs BBS02 output power

I have an 11 speed Kalkhoff and although it is not 500w it can go faster than I feel any need to. My cadence is similar to yours. I do like to keep the speed of the motor up and try to use the gears as much as possible though the motor is so good it is easy to be lazy. I also have a BBS01 on...

    Kudos K16's/Raleigh Strada

Is Raleigh made by the same firm that make KAlkhoffs?? The Kudos kit is very good, I have tried a lot of their bikes and they are all good, as is my Kalkhoff.

Here is my experience with BMS Battery

I recently had an issue with a charger BMS were going to send me a new one but I managed to repair it easily so I cancelled the replacement. I would use them again but as always would check out UK suppliers first as they are improving their prices and customer service.

Importing from China - Learn from my costly mistake

Very Unfortunate. I have bought from china and had no problem. If you did not know the supplier had mislabelled to save costs and had no collusion with them to try to save money, then the supplier should recompense you. I'd be trying very hard to get redress. Good Luck

BMS 14.5 Ah 36v Panasonic Battery charger problem

Yep, all charged up and ready to roll. I think when it arced when I was testing that the dry joint that had come unsoldered probably re-attached itself. If I have any more problems with it I will pull it apart and re-solder all the power connections e.g. caps and transistors. Ta,

BMS 14.5 Ah 36v Panasonic Battery charger problem

Great news, I made a 3 x 12v lamp in series load to test the battery and charger. The Battery was fine, voltage 35.6. Then I checked the output voltage from the charger, it was 91V I then connected up my 36v load and it worked fine until it blow the first lamp in the series. So I shorted out the...

BMS 14.5 Ah 36v Panasonic Battery charger problem

Suga Wu from BMS has offered to send me a new charger for the cost of shipping $33.00 which I thought was very reasonable. My only worry is that it may be the battery management board that has blown not the charger. I checked the voltage from socket on the bottom of the battery and it was 2.7...

    BikeBiz story about eBikes.

My Grandkids call their Great Grandmother Nana Colin, now she is happy to be called Colin. It takes all sorts :-) Though the point that selling one form of transport that can break the law is not a problem, but selling a bicycle that "Could" break the law is a problem, then it seems a little...

BMS 14.5 Ah 36v Panasonic Battery charger problem

Thanks for the advice, strange you don't get arcing, from what I've read previously it seems a common theme, the last flash I had was a big one. I'll keep looking and see if I can get a better PSU by either modding an existing one or buying a "better one". I didn't want to dive in and start...

BMS 14.5 Ah 36v Panasonic Battery charger problem

I bought the above from BMS with a BBS01 kit. It all went together like a dream. I have charged the battery about 6 or 7 times now. I always plug the charger in, switch on the mains, connect to the battery (always indoors) and as usual I get a flash as the connector arcs. It is very annoying...

*Wanted* Bafang BBS Central Motor Speed Sensor Extension lead

Well the cable arrived yesterday, I fitted it today and it works like a dream. Many thanks for all the suggestions. It cost $8.50 including postage so very cheap compared to BMS and others who wanted to charge $30 postage.

Clacking noise - Kalkhoff Impulse 2 motor

Mine does make a clicking noise occasionally. I wasn't sure if it was the pedal, then the noise stopped when cycling in Isle d' Rey. Recently the noise returned intermittently :-( A bit of a worry, if 50 cycles know what is causing the issue I hope they will advise customers of the steps needed...

*Wanted* Bafang BBS Central Motor Speed Sensor Extension lead

Hi Trex, did these ever arrive? If not I can extend the cable however I'd rather use an extension cable rather than cut and splice. Ta,

electrifying adult trike for carrying 2 kids

The BBS01 is a centre bracket (Crank drive) replacement. It is very easy to fit (don't forget the extension lead for the speed sensor if twin rear wheel) and it works great. As it drives the rear wheel there is no slip, on my wife's I do lift the wheel when cornering and for fun I ride it on two...

electrifying adult trike for carrying 2 kids

I fitted a Bafang BBS01 to a Pashley Trike and it is Great. It is the larger frame and works really well. I looked at doing a Front hub however that would mean losing the roller brake and as there are no rear brakes I decided against that. If you are making a multi seater then braking will be...

Here is my experience with BMS Battery

I bought my BBS01 and 17Ah Panasonic battery for the trike and although I did have to pay $20 extra for the shipping and £80 import duty (which I expected anyway) I was very pleased at the speed it all worked. I received it in under a fortnight and it has performed perfectly since fitting. I...
