Help with my first ebike build

Hmm I'd love a bbs02 its a bit more pricy and a bit more of a gamble when trying to be stealth. I may end up going for one though I need to save a bit more money first. If the bbs01 really can get me up good hills without sweating I may get one of them instead. Its just those geared hub motors...

Help with my first ebike build

I should add I will be hauling the weight of my bike, plus myself at 90+kg and then the kit and battery and also a set of full panniers and a backpack at times too. Reliabilty is the most important thing over speed since this will be my main form of transport (no drivers licence.)

Help with my first ebike build

Hill climbing is an important reason for me, the main reason really. I don't mind pedalling on the flat its the hills that kill me,and put me off using the bike more. There are some long fairly steep streches where i live maybe 1 in 8 gradient and some crazy steep hills up to 1 in 3.5! To be...

10 speed and it fitted ok in a 135mm wheel? I wonder if a 9 speed might work better. Im trying to decide between this and the new q128c but that one is 500w so finding it hard to decide now!

Help with my first ebike build

So I've been reading this forum and also ES and trying to decide what to fit to my bike and convert it to electric. The bike is a 2009 specialized rockhopper mtb with 26" wheels front suspension and disc brakes; I want it mainly for commuting on the roads to work but still with a little off...

    Gsm vs bbs01

Thanks for the information. 50-60miles range would be amazing, but even if I only acheive half that it should be enough for me most of the time. I think I'm going to take plunge and get one of these :) One more question , how steep is Pier hill in Southend since you mentioned it earlier? I have...

    Gsm vs bbs01

Been following this thread closely and I'm thinking of getting this as my first ebike kit. I like that its is rated at 250w as I want to remain at least semi legal for the uk roads. I'm thinking of getting this battery with a 48v 20a sine wave controller built in...

    BBS02 pre-purchase advice

Thanks for the information, the em3v site seems to be big on the 42t chainwheel due to alignement issues and the chain coming off is that a problem? also do you ever break many chains?

    BBS02 pre-purchase advice

My cassette is a 11-34t i believe, Ive tried riding the bike as it stands with the 44t chainwheel up front and using the 34t at the rear and getting up some of the very steep hills where i live takes some serious effort. I am fairly fit but would like to make life easier and not turn up at work...

    Just fitted BBS02 kit

That sounds quite reasonable, will be taking the plunge soon i think, just cant decide whether to bother with a 52 or 50v battery over a 48v one, difference in power output seems minimal..

    Just fitted BBS02 kit

I would like to know this also? Really like the look of the bike, very stealth and the panniers look very handy.
