    FreeGo 36v 16.5 A battery repair

I’ve just finished repairing a friend’s battery (faulty BMS) and I’m re-assembling it but I’ve forgotten which way the output pins are arranged! It‘s 2 pin output, + and - Is the negative - pin on the key and charging socket side of the case or the other side? Could anyone with one of these...

have you approached elifebike2010? They are PSWpower.

    Tongsheng TSDZ2. Your experiences.

PSW offer a DDP service (delivery duty paid) which avoids paying approximately £40 to the Post Office. Most of the other sellers seem to offer the same but in practice don‘t. Before the virus, the price for an 8 pin 48v 750w motor with throttle was £250 from PSW, now £270. To have the...

Most waterproof connection method between battery and motor? (TSDZ2)

Any of the suggestions will work but your bigger problem is the gap where the power cables exit the halon case. Moisture up there can be lethal. Fill it with RTV silicon.

    Help please, TSDZ2 problem...

I took one of these things apart and I thought they were just a simple micro switch and did not require 3 conductors. They can be adjusted; the brake handle depresses the, what I think to be microswitch. The switch might be on the cusp of making contact and with vibration etc etc. I do have a...

    Help please, TSDZ2 problem...

The standard motor does not give you a torque value but if 98 appears on your display, this could be the speed sensor set too close to the magnet?

    TSDZ2 or BBS02B

The “noisier” video might be an older version of the TSDZ2. It looks to have a silver spider. I mentioned either here or elsewhere that the latest motor with the black spider was much quieter and smoother. I had a thought that the manufacturer had cheekily implemented the best bits of the open...

    TSDZ2 queries

TSDZ2 will come with a 42t chain ring. It is heavily dished to fit round the housing and I don’t believeve there is a chainring with fewer teeth which will work at a sensible price. A single chain ring with a 11-46t cassette (10 or 11 speed) is a better bet. Multiple magnets aren’t necessary...

    2009 carrera fury bbshd conversion

In the pic you’re looking forward from the left hand side. The dreadfully drawn red arrow points to the clamp bolt which is passing through a rather odd shaped washer sitting in the junction of the two stays. With the TSDZ2 there is a clamp bolt which prevents the motor rotating due to the...

    2009 carrera fury bbshd conversion

I presume you are thinking that I chamfered the housing? No, I didn’t! Its a permanent feature and is there for that purpose. The spacers just lift the frame off the chamfer/motor.

    2009 carrera fury bbshd conversion

The Bizango proved to be well worth converting with a TSDZ2. By far the best one I’ve done and is a real delight to have but .... I needed 2mm of spacers of 35mm diameter which, unfortunately, increased the chain line. Any thoughts of keeping the front derailleur were out of the question as a...

    Help please, TSDZ2 problem...

It’s very easily done. ES has one reference to this happening by one of the US importers. It was described as intermittent.

    Help please, TSDZ2 problem...

There are at least two differences. The spider which attaches the chainring to the main gear is all black instead of a silvery colour - you can’t mistake that. The other is the main gear cover which has rather more square edges and feels stronger although whether it is or not remains to be seen...

    Help please, TSDZ2 problem...

Fortunately I’ve not experienced such a problem. There have been difficult to diagnose problems which have come from incorrectly connecting the connectors. What happens is one or other of the pins in either a 5 or 8 pin connector are bent out of engagement - easily done. It would help to know...

    TSDZ2 36V 250 WATTS for a trike build or stick with bbs01

When? I’m in the middle of my 5th TSDZ2 conversion, this one a 29er and I could do with one! I make them for friends and family. Apart from the first which was 36v all the others are 48v 750w. Over the last 2 years the quality has improved substantially. I used to open them up before they were...

    TSDZ2 36V 250 WATTS for a trike build or stick with bbs01

Your first statement is a gross exaggeration, your second is difficult to reconcile with your “wish to pedal” - both can be configured as a moped but the bafang is better at it, your third about fine tuning - you can hack into the TSDZ2 if you want but I don’t and finally this is a trike where...

    Li-ion Charger recommendations

Rob, I’m referring to building your own battery packs not chargers. I’ve used AnnPower (AliExpress) 4 amp chargers for several years without any trouble. I couldn’t build one for the £30-40 they charge for them. Building battery packs is more testing and mechanical engineering (keeping the cells...

    TSDZ2 36V 250 WATTS for a trike build or stick with bbs01

If you persisted with the EndlessSphere thread and life is too short for that, you would find that a lot of trike users have fitted the TSDZ2 motor. I assume that it suits those with some injury or disability which needs something more likely to provide exercise than a BBS motor which seems more...

    Li-ion Charger recommendations

What should determine the size of charger is the parallel configuration of the battery. A battery with 5 or more cells in parallel will have a maximum charge of 800mAmps per cell which any cell likely to be used these days should be perfectly happy with. Otherwise a battery with say 10ahr...
