Yosepower 350w 48v keeps cutting out - maybe related to throttle.

Oh no I think you could be right. I am very lazy and use the throttle a lot on max power. I had no idea this would wear the batteries down and so did it thinking nothing of it! Adding weight to your hypothesis, I used the bike this morning with a freshly charged battery and had no issues at all...

Yosepower 350w 48v keeps cutting out - maybe related to throttle.

Thanks Neal that is a really useful answer. I actually hadn't considered that the battery would be a factor. I bought it in September 2019 and have used it quite frequently but would probably say realistically I've charged it maybe 50 times. I have also kept it inside and made sure it is charged...

Yosepower 350w 48v keeps cutting out - maybe related to throttle.

Hello Had the above kit for a couple of years now and been pretty reliable. This morning however on riding it I found that it was cutting out. I jangled the cables around a bit and it would usually come back to life but it does appear to be getting worse (this happened a couple of times in the...

Would a BBS02 or a Tosheng fit this weird BB?

Brilliant, good advice. I will pass on this one. Shame as it looks like a good bike overall.

Would a BBS02 or a Tosheng fit this weird BB?

Hello I am scouting around for a donor bike to put a mid drive on and have found a decent choice in this Scott Sub 10. It looks like a great bike for a get around conversion with hydraulic discs and Alfine hub gears BUT it has a really esoteric bottom bracket fitting. Does anyone know if this...

2015 Trek X Caliber does it fit mid drive?

Actually I will see if the seller can take a pic of it, that seems like a sensible way to proceed!

2015 Trek X Caliber does it fit mid drive?

Thanks, I was actually hoping to figure this out before buying the bike but I might see if I like the bike first and then go from there. I could always go for a hub motor if needs be and haven't decided yet but I just like the idea of a mid drive for my second project.

2015 Trek X Caliber does it fit mid drive?

From what I have seen on this forum certain bikes aren't suitable for mid-drive systems because of more aggressive chainstays i.e. Voodoo bikes, does anyone know if the 2015 Trek X Caliber (sic) in XL would accommodate a mid drive?

wear a helmet ,very lucky escape for myself .

I'm really glad you're ok and in that situation a helmet was a really good idea but I don't think this is a blanket endorsement for helmets. For one, it has been shown that both riders and drivers act differently depending on whether a helmet is there or not. The idea is that the rider is more...

Hub motors vs Mid-drive, anything changed?

Sounds like me. I have a road bike for exercise and a electric for getting around which I usually leave on a low setting, but as soon as it gets even slightly hilly my thumb is itching for that throttle!

Hub motors vs Mid-drive, anything changed?

Hello vidtek, thanks for your input, always a great perspective to have. I didn't know the torque sensor acted differently on the higher power modes, that is really interesting. Thanks.

Hub motors vs Mid-drive, anything changed?

Thanks to you both for your thought out replies. I am sort of interested in the torque sensor but then again I think I have ridden one of these (E-motion EZ Jet) and I actually hated the way it wanted me to put in work before it gave me anything! If that is what a Tongsheng is like then I...

Hub motors vs Mid-drive, anything changed?

Hello forum goers. I bought a Yosepower 48v rear hub motor kit about two years ago and have no complaints. It is reliable, fairly quick and does what it is supposed to do. I have since though been thinking about a second project (technically third as I converted a bike for my GF too) and have...

Yosepower 350w 36v rear hub with 36v battery

Great tip, found it here and so will get playing around and report back if I notice any difference.

Yosepower 350w 36v rear hub with 36v battery

Thanks very much, it is time to download the LCD manual and get tinkering! Really useful info. It is for my partner (who is female) but unlike your experience I think she wants that punch from the hub so let's see if anything can be done about it.

Yosepower 350w 36v rear hub with 36v battery

So this is the controller built into the mount I currently have. I guess it depends on what the battery can handle as well though but what are my options in terms of a better controller? If this one has a current of 9A and a max of 18A what can I push it too without compromising reliability (too...

Yosepower 350w 36v rear hub with 36v battery

Oh wow 95% more, that is crazy! So my affordable YP system is 36v 12A is a bit gutless and there is not much I can do about it. Better hope my partner is happy nonetheless, I am starting to realise I should have taken my time and got a better system, seems almost like £400 down the drain now...

How to fit this battery to this rack?

Oh there is no doubt it is massively helpful and a real game changer but I guess coming from the 48v it just felt a little less gutsy. It will probably be fine and to be honest for £400 the kit isn't bad at all.

Yosepower 350w 36v rear hub with 36v battery

Hello I have just finished a conversion for my partner of a nice hybrid bike with the YP 350w 36v rear hub kit. As my partner is only 55kg I thought the step down to a 36v wouldn't be too much of an issue but having taken it out I do think it is significantly less powerful than my 2 year old...

How to fit this battery to this rack?

The kit has a throttle and I have fitted it. I guess having just taken it out myself I was a bit underwhelmed by the performance. I have a 2yr old Yosepower 350w rear hub kit with a 48v battery and it just has a lot more push, I guess that is the extra voltage but I thought given that my partner...
